I don't mind the excitement, like I said, I'm excited about Lanning, but I feel like people are going to turn on him if things don't match what we say vs. Baylor. I also don't like that people are completely ignoring the importance of KCM...the 113th best defense in the country just lost it's best player.

I agree with you there. Fans love the backup QB in Ames. It was Tiller, then Richardson, then Rohach, now Lanning.

That said, I don't think this is a bad team. The teams we've lost to are good teams. We have some winnable games coming up and I hope like hell we can win a few. If not, its time to move on from Rhoads and see what the next guy can do.

Not sure I agree, but everyone should brace themselves for CPR coaching the Cyclones next year no matter how the rest of the season plays out. I'd bet on it if I could.

That's not neccesarily true. I mean they have 2 total losses and, to boot, they were both by one team to the number 2 and 5 teams in the country. Hardly a murderers row there.

It boils down to this, which is something you haven't understood to this point:

If Rhoads is here that means we won some games. That's good. If he gets fired, it means me lost a bunch of games. That's bad.

Also, you ignored the Vegas thing. Money has hammered that line down in ISU's favor.
Wish that were true, but it likely will not be.

You continue to ignore how bad this football program is and I'll continue to ignore that. Deal?

So people think we lose by less than a touchdown to a 3-4 team at home, that's a good reason to keep CPR?

One of you morons can tell me where I've said that. This discussion goes the same every time. Someone reasons for hope and then three people are all like "WE ARE AWFUL AND PAUL RHODES SUX I DON'T KNOW WHY YOU LIKE SUCK!"

Well you can look at facts or you can just hope...

Sharps were heavy on Miami last weekend too.

Because they are illogical morons. If I was gunnerclone I would seriously considering a new team to cheer for.

Wayne Morgan went 55-39 in 3 years and got fired. McDermott went 44-52 in has last 3 year and didn't have a worry about getting fired.

McCarney went 18-18 in his last 3 years and got fired. Rhoads has gone 7-24 in the last 3 years supposedly only has to win 2 more games to keep his job.

The only way Rhoads gets fired is if Leath tells JP "you fire Rhoads or I'll fire you both"

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that a coach who tells his son to not come play for him but instead sign with another school despite being a D-1 recruit and then takes a job at a lower tier program was worried about losing his job. He likely was told by his boss that his days were numbered so he got out as soon as an opportunity presented itself.

Basketball records are always padded by a greater proportion of non-conference games. That too easy ones. However bad Rhoads is, I'd say McD was worse.

My opinion is that 2 more wins lets CPR keep his job. Partially due to the number of openings, showing some improvement, high buyout. And I'd be fine with that. I do have my doubts whether they'll win 2 more tho.

Do you understand the difference between playing in the Big 12 North Division and the Big 12 Conference today?

IMO, if CPR wins 2 more games he is on very thin ice. And the large buyout of CPR's contract is a factor. As well as the large amount of openings at some pretty damn good jobs this year.
