So basically you were trolling Hok fan and he took the bait. Got it. Wherever you troll them at, they come a running, so why not just keep those trolls out of the regular forums. I get it that this is your thing, but do your thing in the rival forums.

This thread was flooded with them already. Not like I brought them out

I get you are an Iowa State fan, but I don't understand why anyone would expect for that to be the case. I'm not sure that I can think of a single advantage Iowa State has over Iowa other than an opportunity for early playing time.

More time on the field, less time at student health getting antibiotics.

In every class you are going to have kids that "have more upside" and mix of kids that are "more of sure thing"..............im with the poster above....give me Powell all day long...........not saying Jackson won't be good but Powell is a safer bet as a 5.6 rated 3 star.........lets hope Stanford's class filled up and they were only stringing him along as a plan B

So the question is, do you go with potential or the more sure thing?

Agreed. Now, dont get me wrong, I really wanted both and we flat out missed on Farniok, which sucked because it sounded like he was a lock after his official visit, but Riley had an in-home with him and seemingly the entire staff, and they swayed him there. Having said that, I had always been more of a Jackson fan. Cytwins spitting out that Farniok still had committable offers from seemingly everyone in the country is off. Farniok is a good player, but him and Jackson arent worlds apart. Plus, Farniok would probably move into guard, and Iowa has a greater need for tackle. Jackson is definitely going to have to wait a couple years before he plays, but he's got the size, athleticism, and toughness, but now he needs the coaching, which is Iowa's bread and butter. It will be interesting to see how he develops (if he goes to Iowa).

Half of player's offer lists the week before signing day are no longer committable. Those big schools wanted Farniok at one time, they didn't want Jackson. Like I said, Jackson could end up being better but if he has so much more upside than Farniok you'd think his offer list, rankings, etc would show it

Not exactly sure.
Go with the sure thing, if there's a choice.

Totally agree. Like picking manning over Leaf. Leaf showed unbelievable potential, manning was supposed to be at his ceiling. But bloodlines, understanding expectations, and those type of things are big. Not saying Jackson will be a Leaf bust, he may be great; but any time the option is there you go with farniok tyoe over the Jackson type.

FWIW, Jackson just started following Michigan's OC/OL coach.

I know we are pretty much set with the OL recruits, but this would be a real good one to get. Would be even better since most Iowa fans think he is going to be a Hawkeye.

He will be choosing between ISU, Iowa and Nebraska.

You need depth at OL, no such thing as being "set" and it generally takes time for them to develop into players who will step on the field and injuries are a persistent problem. The big plus for ISU is the facilities are now fantastic and are just what you need to develop players.

Hate to break the circlejerk here, but that's such a **** mentality. It's nice to have opinions other than the hugbox's once in a while, there is a time and place for that--particularly for non-hugboxers that make legitimate attempts to post in good faith. A vast amount of people here are very, very offputting to that, and it seems to be because a large amount of users can't tell the difference between good-faith posting and trolling.
