Too early to start talking about rumors linking Campbell with every open SEC job, the upper-crust Big Ten schools and, perish the thought, replacing Urban Meyer in Columbus when he retires again? Earle Bruce did it, after all. If only Woody Hayes never punched that kid in the throat. It might have landed on a Clemson Tiger, but the real pain was in Ames.

The truth: I respect CW as an Iowa State graduate that has worked to promote Iowa State athletics full-time, and I appreciate that we have a well-run, free site where we can discuss the Cyclones. But I find his content and commentary to be completely embarrassing as an Iowa State fan. It's unfortunate that we don't have stronger representatives in the media and instead have to listen to/read CW and Randy Peterson. Do I take it too seriously? Probably.
Well then. No one is forcing you to read either. Being a bit harsh I think. Personally I think CW is doing a great job and I always enjoy reading his stuff, so there.

Ha! That almost, nearly, maybe, could be . . . House. Patrolling the hallways of Princeton Plainsboro.

24452 was the average home attendance in Majors' first season. Hard to believe we have come that far.

Thanks to those for your support in this thread. It, and all of you for that matter, is more appreciated than you will ever know.

To the detractors, that's fine too. I fully realize my style is a bit....different, and I'm ok with that. When I was going to journalism school, I didn't fit in. The Iowa State Daily told me and that I wrote with too much voice so I got some Internet experience. That wouldn't pay the bills so after college, the Ames Tribune, Newton paper (not sure what it is called) and some publication in Knoxville (among other publications) all turned me down for jobs.

When I moved back to southwest Iowa to do radio, I made a vow to myself that I was just going to to be me from now on and do things my own way. Dare to be different. If it worked out, great. If not, I was going to go back to school to be a lawyer or teacher.

I'm damn glad that I did my own thing. I wound up being able to hang out with you guys all day and talk to you (hopefully) as you drive home from work.

Really glad things went the way they did for you. If it didn't I would be glad to read your articles in the newton daily news though ☺

Thank God your talents and the evolution of the new media prevented the addition of yet another lawyer to the US economy.:jimlad: Keep the good content coming our way!

But but but America Needs Another Lawyer...good to read that you're not spreading anymore of the well "We are Iowa State" and "we shouldn't beat Texas" horse manure anymore, that's refreshing at the very least, for the moment. Now on to "The Process"!

HAHAHHA - CW you are a unique individual alright! Have seen the Kool-Aid drunk, spit up, vomited and blown out the rear end for the past 50 years! I drank the Kool-aid again and dampened it with a little reality. Then CMC kept bringing in players I have never seen before - gets a #35-#24 Class Rank and several qbs and I get a little starry eyed! Start thinking like JP and think "Why not Iowa State? Why the hell not? JP asked for fans - we came. He asked for money - we gave! He asked for a little more patience and we stayed! He opened the door to a vision - NO MORE DOOR MAT! F. U. Big 12 - we are coming cuz - THE NATION RISES! GO CLONES!

idk, when did Chris graduate? I'm closing in on my 50th bday & get a kick out of CWs talking about our history. He's kind of a pup in my book & a great supporter of ISU.

I've told him John Walters is not the godfather of ISU play by play, Pete Taylor obviously is.
It doesnt really matter though, we both/all love ISU.

New football coaches are difficult to measure especially when they havent coached a season yet. CMC is a freaking stud, I'm all aboard & ready to pop a few brews #AStormIsBrewing at our tailgate.

Go State
I'm right there on the verge of 50 as well and I don't have a problem with anything CW said about the Majors era. You are correct with the Pete Taylor comment as well. I love seeing the enthusiasm with the fans today. It brings back some good memories of the Earl Bruce era for me. I like that Campbell and Co. are all over twitter and any social media platform that gives them any kind of edge...insert Ashley Madison jokes here...The way I see it, whatever articles bring fans together and give us hope or at least, a little perspective, I'm all for.

One thing I would like to see a little more of are articles about those past decades. Majors, Bruce...even Duncan and Walden. How many on here remember the Orr/Walden Bartles and Jaymes posters?

I wish we had better local representatives of garlic around here. I mean this respectfully, but the users representing garlic in their usernames on this board are ****** nozzle *** wipes. Respectfully.
