Did you mean to sound like a mule, or are you serious? If serious, the mule description fits. If not serious. . . .Spare us the history lesson, Mr. 2003.
Well then. No one is forcing you to read either. Being a bit harsh I think. Personally I think CW is doing a great job and I always enjoy reading his stuff, so there. The truth: I respect CW as an Iowa State graduate that has worked to promote Iowa State athletics full-time, and I appreciate that we have a well-run, free site where we can discuss the Cyclones. But I find his content and commentary to be completely embarrassing as an Iowa State fan. It's unfortunate that we don't have stronger representatives in the media and instead have to listen to/read CW and Randy Peterson. Do I take it too seriously? Probably.
Ha! That almost, nearly, maybe, could be . . . House. Patrolling the hallways of Princeton Plainsboro.SolarGarlic went full Solar Garlic. Never go full Solar Garlic.![]()

Hmm, I'm not sure I follow this logic, but I like it!Did you mean to sound like a mule, or are you serious? If serious, the mule description fits. If not serious. . . .

To the detractors, that's fine too. I fully realize my still is a bit....different, and I'm ok with that. When I was going to journalism school, I didn't fit in. The Iowa State Daily told me and that I wrote with too much voice so I got some Internet experience. That wouldn't pay the bills so after college, the Ames Tribune, Newton paper (not sure what it is called) and some publication in Knoxville (among other publications) all turned me down for jobs.
When I moved back to southwest Iowa to do radio, I made a vow to myself that I was just going to to be me from now on and do things my own way. Dare to be different. If it worked out, great. If not, I was going to go back to school to be a lawyer or teacher.
I'm damn glad that I did my own thing. I wound up being able to hang out with you guys all day and talk to you (hopefully) as you drive home from work.

Really glad things went the way they did for you. If it didn't I would be glad to read your articles in the newton daily news though ☺

I'm right there on the verge of 50 as well and I don't have a problem with anything CW said about the Majors era. You are correct with the Pete Taylor comment as well. I love seeing the enthusiasm with the fans today. It brings back some good memories of the Earl Bruce era for me. I like that Campbell and Co. are all over twitter and any social media platform that gives them any kind of edge...insert Ashley Madison jokes here...The way I see it, whatever articles bring fans together and give us hope or at least, a little perspective, I'm all for.idk, when did Chris graduate? I'm closing in on my 50th bday & get a kick out of CWs talking about our history. He's kind of a pup in my book & a great supporter of ISU.
I've told him John Walters is not the godfather of ISU play by play, Pete Taylor obviously is.
It doesnt really matter though, we both/all love ISU.
New football coaches are difficult to measure especially when they havent coached a season yet. CMC is a freaking stud, I'm all aboard & ready to pop a few brews #AStormIsBrewing at our tailgate.
Go State
