I take back some of what I said earlier. Some of you trolls make following recruiting just downright unbearable. Ugh.

Snooped around the Web yesterday looking for a list of the state of Iowa's top 2017 prep kids but found none. Anyone got a link? Thanks.

the same amount Floyd gets for recruiting the kids on Eustacy's team.

Well then how about we quit bagging on freaking Wayne Morgan while we are at it (Wasn't this website basically founded on that?)! Wayne the satellite salesman won and went to more tournament games than your beloved Chewey ever sniffed here and before you say that Eustacy got those kids because of a cross country trip ask yourself if they would have honored their commitments had Wayne not been retained...oh and Hoiberg had his "inmates running the asylum" too.

Point being if talent wins games you can be the staunchest old ******* out there but doing it the "right way" will only take you as far as the talent on the field. If new uniforms and other accoutrements are what is needed to get winning football players into Ames then by god that is what we need to be doing because one thing is for certain these kids aren't coming here for the nice weather, pretty girls and a "traditionalist football coach".

Exactly. We fill the base needs with some good solid recruits and target them. Then we only have so many spots to fill. The pressure then is on the recruit a little more to give a commitment. Because there is a possibility another target could take that offer. IMO, Campbell and the rest of the stuff work their tails off recruiting. CPR and his staff just weren't at this level of intensity in recruiting. I never got the impression that Rhoads really recruited all that much. He didn't use social media like Campbell and this staff does. Wally didn't really recruit much it seemed. And it all came down to just a few guys doing all the recruiting. On Campbell's staff they ALL recruit. And they seem to love it. Their enthusiasm and their vision for the future is contagious. Hopefully, Coach Matt Campbell and staff do great things at Iowa State. And I just get the impression that Coach Campbell and his staff actually love Iowa State already and that is one of the reasons that they are so successful in getting recruits. They are selling our facilities and also the support and love from Cyclone Nation, along with everything else, to these recruits.

Who were the best recruiters on CPRs staff? Shane Burnham and Lou Ayeni. Is Lou even close to the best recruiter on this staff? No, he's probably 4th. CPRs coordinators didn't really recruit other than Wally spending the winter in FL. Sturdy did, but he was only OC half a season. On Campbell's staff, everyone is out hitting the road. This is a much more effective recruiting staff.

I have an idea: Let's sell how blue collar we are and talk to kids about going to work.

Not sure how many years it has been since someone was bagging on Wayne Morgan. I also find it laughable that people are upset about comparing CPR to CMC. CPR didn't exactly lead ISU to the promised land, and who else do you want to compare recruiting result with? Maybe Jim Criner or Clyde Williams? Signing day is a long ways off. If you are not exited about the fact that ISU has verbals from 9 guys before May, that is your problem.

Yeah this staff doesn't talk about working hard probably. THe lengths people will go to to mock the previous staff is kind of sad.

Yeah well that blue collar middle class dream is dead as dead. Just like in real life in college sports the rich just get richer. Smart having a coach who publicly stated that we shouldn't beat Texas in a post game press conference. Says a lot about the idea of just coming to work, having your boss scream at you and you just accept it because you were an under-recruited 3 star kid from Texas...know your place son, ISU has a spot is basically the message all you conservative douches rallied around behind Paul...and the "he was a nice guy" bit got so annoying. Thank goodness we've finally got a coach who believes in working SMARTER not HARDER.

Only question I have is are all you CPR lovers gonna go to the PRIDE celebration in Des Moines on June 11th?

To be honest I hope coach Campbell and his staff work harder and smarter...
