I personally think ISU should be more worried about UNI and Iowa about Miami. The Big Game will sort itself out and then each team has at least what, 10 more games? I have my own personal opinion on the "game" in terms of who places more importance on it and Twins has his opinion. So the "bro" argument is not going to be won by anyone. However, to bring in enrollment to the argument may be the dumbest thing I have ever read. So based on enrollment, off the top of my head, Duke is the little brother to North Carolina by probably 3x, Stanford is the redheaded stepchild to Washington St by what 4x based on enrollment and ND is the little bro to probably every D1 program in Indiana?

I agree with a lot of this. Just saying we're big brother because of enrollment isn't really accurate since there are many reasons more than just that we are the big brother here

I would say Iowa is a less talented, less heralded Oklahoma. Bobby Stoops is a Hayden protogee like Kirk Ferentz.

Will Pollard put up a billboard in Waterloo if isu wins its Super Bowl?
HestricalAmes.
You see the " super bowl" you speak of only lives in the low information hawk fans mind.
To most ,if not all Cyclone fans this game is not as important as Big 12 games, statistically it has been much easier the passed 20 years to beat the Hawks than it has been to win in the Big 12.
It is a game that means most to Iowa High School recruits for both schools..the fans Univeristy of Ankeny (er) Iowa should realize that that Marketing strategy was about getting in state players not because it reflects on the Hawks ability to or lack there of to beat Iowa State.
I am glad you were are able to come on a Cyclone message board to air your opinions... Because the HN message board is simply elementary in format and discussions at least here you can pretend to be intelligent. Keep practicing... Some day you will be able to swim in the deep end like the most of us here.

You are confusing two different concepts. Research funding is a direct result of the value Iowa generates for its partners. If research partners felt isu was deserving of more funding than Iowa they would do it. Endowments are a result of the post graduate success Iowa's grads have had and their willingness to invest in their alma matter. It appears isu grads either don't have the ability or willingness to do the same. Maybe they are just "tavern clones" and can't afford it.

Now as far as the impact that has on state funding you need to understand that he difference between Quality and Quantity. Quality comes at a cost and it appears that in today's environment the State is willing to pay for Iowa's Quality over isu's quantity. If isu really is big bro as folks like to claim on this site, then isu shouldn't have any trouble changing this dynamic in the state legislature. Yet for some reason that hasn't taken place. Maybe you can educate us as to why that is?

As it is two state funded universities, they should get an equal share of the monies provided by the state. If you disagree with that then you are a complete moron.

Can someone please change the title of this thread and replace "Does" with "Do" we aren't a bunch of illiterate hicks... let's start correcting some of these things that scream "bare footed farm child"
Grammar counts....
As the post originator I used the word "does" because I was looking for one answer from each who responded...
That being the case the sentence is grammatically correct... But I "ain't no " English major and just illiterate hick...so I did ask one... He agreed that I did use the correct word. Here is his answer...
"Use does when it's a matter of only one person or thing. (Iowa's Football team does compare to Kansas State)
Use do when it's a matter of more than one person or thing." Iowa's Football team do compare to Kansas State and Okie State"

Iowa leads little bro in the series for both football and MBB by a hefty margin. But if you want to cherry pick select time frames to feel better about yourself have at it.
That's Hawk logic, that when you're talking about who is big brother at this time don't disregard games played between 1890 and 1990. I have correctly defined the time frame. If you don't think what happened lately matters keep in mind you guys unanimously wanted to fire Kirk 2 years ago and were discussing buyouts.

Dude, all of us know enough Iowa grads that you can drop the quality crap, we know better. You get research funding because of the med school which accounts for probably 1-3% of those enrolled.

I'm still trying to figure out how comparing your program to KSU is somehow an insult.
Because they aren't exciting to watch.......like Iowa.
Unless you are a blue blood program, 7.75 pre bowl wins a year in a P5 is solid.

Then you tell us why Iowa is consistently ranked higher in academics and has a much larger endowment.

If isu was big bro isu fans wouldn't resort to selective time frames.

A thread which is in response to an article about about Who Iowa State most Resemble's in the Big Ten

You see we actually talk about topics on this board, unlick HN, where they just jerk each other off and scream GO HOKS!

I felt really uncomfortable reading this part about unlicking and jerking off
