What the hell happens to our starting qbs over the summer. They seem to regress no matter who the coach is

One of the worst college games I have ever watched. Keep in mind, UNI made several unbelieveable mistakes, any one of which would cost you the game against a decent team. I was prepared to lose tonight, and pretty much every game this year. I look at this year as a throw away year.

We knew this was possible tonight...this team had 1/3 of its roster leave, quit or get kicked in the off season..a ton of which was returning Oline..

And for the recruits who were here tonight..good..they are all saying to themselves that they can come in and play right away..

It's going to take a year or two to right this ship. UNI stacked the box all game..they put 7 in the box all game.

UNI is a darn good fball team..Yes they are FCS..did anyone watch the Tennesee game? Did anyone see TCU barely beating South Dakota st and FCS team..TCU is top 10. I'm far more optimistic given the amount of mistakes we made and the turnovers we lost..had we not had a single turnover and very few penalties and lost then that would be worse..take away half the turnovers and some really dumb mistakes and we prob win the game by 10 easy.

had this as a 3 win year, probably 2 now, no big deal. ISU probably needs a strong JC QB or a grad transfer QB. The previous staff really had a bad string of QB recruits. Well actually probably not just in the QB area.

Sure it's the first game with a lot of new pieces. But a ton of the momentum and enthusiasm Campbell and his staff built in the off season just died tonight. Very unimpressed with what I saw out of this team.
THIS. The window of opportunity for ISU coach of the 5 year cycle starts very small and they can crap the bed like these guys did tonight. I would not be surprised to hear of 4 or 5 de-commits by the end of the week. Seriously, would you have your beloved nephew come play for this steaming pile of unhappiness if they had options? The Lanning throw second to last interception is so mind-boggling stupid.....we had a one point lead and had gained successive 5 or 6 yerd plays (from memory). I do know how self-help uber-optimism chants you can do to fool yourself that this was not an utter disaster.

I'm not in meltdown mode (I mean, this is ISU), but it looked to me like UNI didn't exactly play a good game either. UNI scores their last touchdown and kicks it out of bounds on the kickoff and then shanks the punt giving us 1:30 to score a touchdown. I don't think we lost because UNI is good, both teams looked like ass imo.

4 TO's for Lanning, 5 total TO's. Penalties all over the place. Sloppy sloppy play. Got their work cut out for them. I'm not panicing at this point because I saw some good things, but our lines on both sides are looking like or weakest points. Lanning doesn't stop turning the ball over, he's done.

Obviously the offensive line is turrible (we knew that coming in) but I don't think the D line was that bad. It may have seemed that way when the offensive couldn't stay on the field more than 1 minute.

Agree about Lanning, he's likely got about 2 games to figure this out before being benched.

Right now, if I was a recruit....you know you can come in and play right away at a lot of positions..
Hopefully they have that attitude. I just truly think that we have more talent than UNI so getting out-coached looks bad to recruits buying into a coaching staff
