Too many dropped passes today and the linebackers and secondary were subpar to put it lightly.

I'm sick of the ,"we're on the right path" quotes. We've been on the right path on and off for ten years.

Saying that I thought both lines were good today

What a terribly disappointing loss, but the team looks a lot better than last year. And last year they really improved as the season went on.

We have some good coaching going on.

This. People seem to think that rebuilding goes:

1) get new coach
2) get better recruits for one cycle
3) win

There's a whole step of "becoming competitive" that everyone wants to skip before "win".

We haven't been competitive week in and week out for like 5 + years.

I saw the missed holding call on Iowa in the 1st(?) quarter from my seat in row 28 in section K. That one was bad.

You and about 40,000 in the crowd from the way it sounded on TV. I didn't see it myself.

Completely agree, Campbell has been watching too much Iowa tape or something. Their offense was rolling and they needed the knockout blow, instead they ran 3 predictable plays with little effort to even pick up the 1st down.

Blame the refs all you want, but this is where the game was lost. All we needed to do was stay aggressive and pick up a 1st down or 2. I absolutley hate when teams are leading and decide to completely shut down their offense and then hope to hold on.

When ISU stops doing this, then you will know that there has been a real culture change in the football program...

WELL we raised the standard of futility today! Another Charlie Brown football moment. What a nut punch. Tired of the have to learn how to win- you learn how to win by winning! Special teams are a joke - gave Hoks extra 10 yards for weak KO's. Be honest- MW has nothing to offer. Lost 5-7 yards on every KO. Take a knee and we only need 75 yards to a TD. Total disappointment - 4 wins maybe.

Hurts to drop that one but I thought we looked decent overall. Offense looks very good right now, need to fix the drops and we have a great unit. Defensive front has been much better than expected, but the back end has been disappointing. Better angles, tackling, and locking down by our corners are all needed.

Congrats to the Hawks

Can you explain how it didn't? Yes there's other factors but if Park doesn't throw the pick, Iowa doesn't get the field goal, we take time off the clock, and we even possibly score.

ISU had chance to take time off the clock after that and didn't do it, and then didn't hold Iowa when it needed to. You have no idea what would have happened if Park doesn't throw the INT. It sucked, but drops, bad tackles, and running plays that went nowhere were issues.

I'd say Wadley catching the ball in the flats and going through a bunch of bad tackling for the tying score was sort of crucial.

TO's happen, and ISU's D was great to hold it to a field goal.

WHAT. THE. ****???

He, and others, are being total dooshbags. Acting like Campbell has been here a decade and anything less than 14-0 national championship seasons are unacceptable when this program has never won 10 or more games in it's 100+ year history. I'm upset ISU lost and even more upset at the way they lost, but the response of some fans to this loss is even more unacceptable.

There's 60 minutes in a game. There is never a single play that loses the game for any team.

There were A LOT of plays where Iowa State didn't score.

Probably at least 50 just on offense alone. Terrible.

Do I have to jimlad?

I think he's doing what he's doing on purpose. Those kicks near the sideline at the 5 really limit the returns.

Watching OU v Buckeyes and the idea that Iowa is better on D than OU is laughable. Per play there is no way they are on the same level. This repeated idea that was the best D we'll play is silly. I wish it were true because ISU would be a big 12 contender.

We're not going to have 40+ on many teams this year while creating zero turnovers. That explains their level of defense

I very rarely complain about coaching decisions but my first comment after that drive was that it was a classic McCarney moment of playing not to lose and OF COURSE it came back to bite us in the butt.

Said then they needed to go downhill on that series. The 3rd down looked like some sort of hidden screen that they hadn't ran all day and didn't look comfortable running.
Don't have to go crazy but since the pitch to DM was there most of the day it was likely to get at least something to open up other plays.

Otherwise no complaints--loved getting the ball over the middle to Butler in crucial spots.

True, which is why everyone knows this is a very disappointing loss. You've got to beat teams like Iowa. I mean, they're UNI if Dunne has his Jantz moment last week.

Yep, and hurts that much more being a home game. Until we start turning the corner, a game like that should be won.
