Lol. Bruce Weber one CBS sports network: (paraphrasing) "they need to expand the Ncaa field. Get more teams in the tournament, better for the coaches, less coaches getting fired."

Um ISU has had pretty good teams the last few years.
I know ISU has had good teams but for people to not see a benefit of playing close to home, that's ridiculous.
If its back to Dallas or OKC, we don't get the same crowds.

Marcus Foster was a complete headcase after his freshman year success. He alone pretty much destroyed Weber's budding program.

Yes, from that class only Wes Iwundu stayed with the program and rightly so for him as he ended up in the NBA.

Nigel Johnson has bounced around but finishing with UVA ain't all bad. Nigel transferred out after Foster and others were dismissed from that team.

Dean Wade and Foster played some summer league together, I'm told. I suspect Barry Brown will have the Foster-guard.

Personally, I'd have preferred playing Missouri, the old rival. But this CU match has a compelling storyline.

I felt bad for Marcus after last night's game. Weber put him in a blender and the result was pretty ugly.

I see why you guys are glad McD's at CU rather than Ames. Not sure how that team finished third in the Big East.

What’s going on with Dean?

So many big injuries in the Big 12 impacting the postseason.

Creighton played nervous and scared all night. They don't normally look like that at all. Bad day to have a bad day.

I am curious as to why a fair number of fellow Cyclone fans, at least those on CycloneFanatic.com, do seem to have a raw and passionate hatred of Bruce Weber?

He's well known as a good guy in coaching, which can be hard to find at times, and he's a pretty solid coach IMO. I honestly don't understand why some Cyclone fans were openly cheering for Creighton last night (as well as a truly bad coach) over a fellow conference team.

I don't really see hatred as much as people poking fun at him. Nowhere near the level some people still hate McD

I was absolutely rooting for KSU last night.

Wade broke that foot in high school. He has a stabilizing pin implanted that has been problematic ever since. These 'stress fracture' injuries are common for basketball players, particularly at K-State it seems. D.J. Johnson played about half the time due to his foot issues. Anyway, talk is that Wade will have the pin removed after the season. It's hobbled him his whole stay at State.

And as for ISU/K-State, I have always taken it as a brother/brother rivalry, not like the distaste for Ku. But I could be wrong.

Bruce isn't a great coach. I definitely root for KState and Okie State when we aren't playing them because they are so similar to ISU.

The thing about KState bball is that they could do so much better than Bruce. Not hiring Underwood before Okie State and then Illinois got him still baffles me.
Yeah, but Bruce has got a smokin hot recruiting coordinator.

KState could do much better than Bruce? You think too highly of them.

I’m happy for Bruce, surly and all the wildcat faithful. How about a 4th crack at the chicken hawks?

I think KState should be better than .500 in league play under Bruce.
Of the 13 combined current/former B12 schools, they have an all time winning record against 10 of them. Yes, 10 of 13.
That’s pretty effing good. He’s underachieving for them.

Counting all-time records and thus wins from several decades ago seems silly. Perhaps you thought McD was fitting for ISU?
