I just got home and ffwd to the out of bounds reversal and i have absolutely no idea what you people saying that was a good call are looking at. Very clearly the ball was in a KsT8 players hand and knocked out by conditt but the ball went off maweens fingers on the way out. What in the hell are you looking at?

If it was NBA they would have video reviewed and made the right call. Unfortunately it's medieval CBB where refs can still throw games. Players and coaches will never say it but this one is on the zebras.

You can say that we sucked and the refs sucked because both are true. That change of heart in that tip out of bounds was the straw that broke the will to overcome. After that...you get bad thoughts as a player.

People defending the refs here have obviously never played sports and don't realize how blown calls can affect the dynamics of the game. Yeah isu should try to rise above it but it makes the game more difficult. That difficulty is on refs. Not our team.

I would actually say that you haven’t played sports, and neither has most of the board. Blaming the officials for every loss is the exact thing that non athletes do. Picking one play that you think the officials got wrong is the exact thing people who haven’t played sports do. You and others keep bringing up one or two plays where the officials weren’t on our side. Guess what, kstate can point to a few of those too. If you’re an athlete and a competitor, you don’t leave it In the hands of the officials. If you sit and ***** at your tv over every call you perceive as unfair, well, you obviously never played sports

The problem is that this game should not have been close. The team sleepwalked through the first half, and defended their way back into the game. Officials made winning really hard today, but in the end, after regaining the lead by attacking the KSU defense the team tried to milk the clock and peed down their shorts. Make your FTs, and play to win and you walk away with a nice win.

We were garbage, but our garbage still beats them if not for horrific officiating. We take a bigger share of the blame, but refs played their role too

Reasons we lost;

-FT shooting
-Lack of ball movement
-Lack of player movement without the ball
-FT shooting
-Not one of Prohm's better days (whar Conditt late? Wiggs on Brown? Plenty of other ?s)
-Just some bad luck on late open looks
-FT shooting

Things that didn't help but you can't possibly hang the loss on;
-Refs

Officials botched some obvious calls that went against ISU, we got a few chippy fouls called in our favor that were wrong ... seemed erratic and inconsistent more than "bad" or imbalanced.

As physical as it was early in the game, I kind of liked how they didn't call every damn foul and bog down the flow.

That foul call in waning minutes on the KSU in-bound play when both ISU and KSU players were going for the ball (was that Wiggi? Can't immediately remember) --- that should've been a no-call. That was the basketball equivalent of a dubious pass interference decision.

The announcers were wrong too! Go back and rewatch that replay. It initially goes off ISU, but a KSU player tipped it last. It was definitely out on KSU and the ref that called it correctly the first time was 2 feet from them while the ref that overturned it was at half court. That’s ridiculous.

This loss is not on the refs, but they certainly contributed plenty to the cyclone efforts and affected the flow of this game.

Who was the ref who was 2 feet away? I know it was Joey Derosa who overturned it from half court, but I didn't recognize the ref who had the best position and made the initial call.

I'd add being impatient on offense too. Too much stuff where whoever gets to the basket on a drive is not in control.

So shoving guys out of bounds, pushing players to the ground, missing clear traveling calls but then on the other end we get called for breathing on people. The big 12 won’t let us play physical but every other team gets away with it.
Happens in every game. Happens to the teams ISU beats. Make plays or lose.
