I’ve been low key freaking out about this since the thread was posted.
I actually didn't know about it being spelled lede, but since the etymology of lede is an alternate spelling of lead, and it is essentially used as journalism jargon, I officially don't care and don't feel the least bit bad about it.

I always leave a few seconds on the microwave at work and don’t feel bad about it.

You shouldn't feel bad at all.

You do seem a bit angry, however. :)

Raise your hand the last time you picked up any magazine and isu football was mentioned in the same sentence as championship...

I’m all for expectations.. better to have expectations than not.

There’s no reason this team, if healthy, can’t be in the 8-9 win+ conversation..

8 or 9 wins should be very doable, the big test is 10 to 11 wins. For that to occur, we have to be healthy the whole year, the OL has to step up and play at a high level, keep turnovers down, and Purdy needs to continue to run the ball. He got away from that the last 4 games of the year, and it slowed down the offense. Against Drake, -16 yards, and Texas -11 yards, he did rush for 46 in the bowl game. If he runs enough to keep the defense honest, with our defense we will be in every game.

It's great that there are 15 ISU players on his all Big XII team, but isn't the big takeaway that he has ISU as his #4 surprise team and two of his power ratings have ISU going 11-1. I mean... holy ****!
But he found four quarterbacks better than Purdy? Or did I miss that name?

Whose being negative? Just just because I'm not booking Tickets for the NCG I'm being negative? Most rational fans would agree that the OL last year was not good and suddenly the same magazine who regularly put us in the cellar has is at 11-1 they are the gospel? What about the times they had us 8th and we surprised and went to a bowl game. They weren't credible then but now they are the truth.
I just have to point this out. The pattern is that Steele is consistently underestimating us.

Stop and think about that for a sec.

We've certainly been trained to expect that as fans. Its going to take a long time to undo decades of disappointment following expectations. Campbell is certainly doing everything he can to undo that.

11 wins would be insane. ****, i'd be thrilled with 9 wins.

I remember the days early CMC when most were hoping to get 8 wins a year...lol.
