Certain degrees yes, but saying the o-line sucks when that's exactly what they did tonight is just calling it what it is. Those guys when they watch film are going to think the exact same thing. Sometimes you have to take your licks. I've been told by co-workers or bosses that my effort was really poor in "x" situation or that my job I did on a project really was not well done and I need to be much better or risk not getting those types of projects.
I think you made a very good point here. Being critical does not automatically mean you have to be a jerk about it! There is a difference between saying they "suck" and saying their execution was incorrect. OR, stating things like they have sucked all year, etc. It's a semantics thing with me. People should run a filter, if they couldn't say it to the coaches or players, then they probably shouldn't say it at all. You think you could get away with explaining your co-workers' failings to them the way some on here vent about "our" team?
