You expect 18 year old kids to have wisdom yet grown "men" are tweeting hateful garbage at them.

These kids are living in a fish bowl and there are swaths of our "fan" base who act like the fat stupid kid who keeps tapping the glass.
I expect them to be wise enough to know what goes on in social media, since they've likely been a part of it for years.

Of course. But what do you think it accomplishes?

I'm assuming by your defensiveness on this, you do it. Why do you think throwing a fit on CF on January 1st is a good thing?

I never tweet at players or coaches regardless of good or bad outcomes. If someone got offended bc I tweeted the cyclones embarrassed themselves against Florida a&m then that’s on them.
If you think I ever got a twitter account or CF account to accomplish something real then you are mistaken

IMO Whats acceptable on a message board a level below Twitter

Twitter: Just stop being a bad person. Don’t write anything you wouldn’t say in person.

Message board: You’re allowed to have an opinion, just don’t be a **** about it. It’s ok to have an opinion re how the coach or players are doing or who should play; just be respectful.

Let's settle this once and for all.

Below is a link to a real-time Twitter search of George Conditt's mentions. This is everything he's tweeted and everything that has been tweeted at him.

During and after last night's game there's nothing but encouraging tweets. After his own tweets from earlier this morning, there is an avalanche of even more encouraging tweets. In the entire stream going back 2-3 days, I counted three negative tweets - and two were from one person.

https://twitter.com/search?q=@george_conditt&f=live

So let's stop making this out to be more than what it is. People are not tweeting at players.

It's funny that you expect them to be wise enough to know what is going on, yet you don't expect yourself or other fans to realize that that posting **** on twitter or facebook or CF doesn't solve anything. Seems a bit of a double standard.

Again, you don't know if he is being direct messaged at. I realize that apparently you have to have that option open, but we don't know if he does or doesn't.

But I guess you are cool with calling him a lier.

Search for “Steve Prohm” and filter by latest. Since the players follow Steve I’d imagine they see the f bombs about it.

I’m just curious what you think griffin and conditt are on about

Well it's not about people tweeting at them. We can easily see that and those tweets were nowhere to be found when people have looked.

Theyre probably going out there and looking for it. Which is an unwise decision for any player when we are in the middle of a bad season.

On the contrary, I do know that random people are not direct messaging him because his Twitter account is not open to direct messages from random members of the public.

If you don't know what you're talking about, stop talking. All you're doing is contributing to misinformation.

Pretty easy to find in the mentions of any cyclone basketball tweets...

You think Chris Williams would have said something about the vocal minority if it wasn’t happening? Derp
Just did a quick search of the posts from the last 24 hours from @cyclonembb. Not one person tagged any coach or player to say anything negative. Several people tagged Tyrese to congratulate him on his triple double. One Hawk doosh made a comment about us wearing something that looked like an “Iowa color.” Yes there were negative posts, but none tagged any coach or player. Like how it’s been posted on this thread several times, if you’re a D1 athlete, stay off social media after a loss, because I guarantee you will see something you don’t like.

I will add that 'madcyclonefan' on there is NOT me. :)

1. I don't have Twitter.
2. My handle on CF isn't emotionally based.

That post by whoever that is is really awful though.

CF could be Exhibit A in showing that emotionally stunted people have problems regulating behavior when they don't get a desired result.

You can read ******* embarrassing **** here about players and coaches after any loss going back as long as this site exists. It should surprise no one that this is found on other platforms as well. Have you seen what passes for political discussion on social media? People suck.

But I'm only responsible for myself out there.

PS: When players react with disgust to people's hot takes about their play or their coaches it's because they can tell in three seconds you don't know jack squat about what really is going on.

Thx Trice. Assuming your research is correct, facts matter. I have seen a whole lot of emotional sweeping generalizations today so I appreciate the detail.

In addition, personally I don’t condone personal direct attacks on coaches or players. However, this is a sports forum (I don’t do Twitter or Facebook) and what do people expect on here? CSP makes millions and fans have every right to question his progress and decision making.
