Absinthe is a great show if you're not the type to get offended. It's crazy funny. Dirty, disgusting & hilarious.
Have to hit up Beer Park & Harrah's Carnival Court! Frankie's Tiki Lounge is a must at some point, its off the strip but their atmosphere & skull rated drinks are great. Stadium Swim is a new one, haven't been there yet (going in June) but looks very nice.
Frankie's is wild! Every time we go to Vegas (around 3 times a year) it is a staple in our routine but so is Beer Park & Carnival Court. There is an awesome Mexican place called El Segundo Sol on the outside of Fashion Show mall.Yep a lot of these will be on my list once I can get a feel for what's opening back up due to the restrictions. Love the Beer Park, Frankies is a hella good time.
I have a buddy that enjoys Golden Tiki way more and we have arguments over which one we're going to all the time.Frankie's is wild! Golden Tiki is nicer & you can definitely see better in there! It does have a better clientele but Frankie's is Frankie's.I have a buddy that enjoys Golden Tiki way more and we have arguments over which one we're going to all the time.
I don't spend enough time at Carnival Court to be honest. I should do it more because I always have a good time. There's just always so much to do
Don't be spooked by those examples. Here's an actual real life example of one time at the Bellagio in 2017 from my win/loss statement. This was a 3 day weekend where I hit up a few properties but this was a single day at the Bellagio.
You can see my "coin in" was $4572 and my coin out was $4413. I only lost $158 but I kept winning and losing and staying even so much that I "spent" $4572 in the eyes of the casino, when in reality it was probably two $100 bills and I cashed out before I went to $0.
So let's do the comp math on that, let's say the slots were crap and they have a 10% hold. I put through $4572 which would give a theoretical loss of $457 and comps worth probably right around $150. Which means I broke pretty much even and got some free drinks out of it! And I only used 2 $100 bills and got $40 of it back

Depends if you want the happy ending or not?2015, you are the best. I love having our own CF Vegas Insider!
How much do we tip you?
tl;dr
How much do we tip you?
There's also a Waldorf Astoria there. FYI @ISUCyclones2015 additionally end of this month Virgin hotels is taking over the Hard Rock and will be a hilton curio hotel. Pretty good guide, but I am not a vegas expert.
This was really helpful, particularly to give a reality check on the "Vegas comp" mythology. It was very interesting to read how the business of Vegas comps works.
What would you say are the minimum amounts of gambling, shows, etc. that would be needed to get any comps? To be honest, I got a little spooked by your examples of $5000 and $10000, even though it makes sense that you have to "earn" your comps.
Holy heck... that is alot of info. We frequent Vegas a decent amount 2-3 times a year.
RE: the pools. Big miss here is The Mirage. I would say the Mirage pool is stellar with a sweet waterfall feature and one of the better pools. I mean have you seen Vegas Vacation?! (happens to be where we're staying in Sept due to being comped ).
Restaurants:
- Beauty & Essex @ Cosmo is really cool and food is decent.
- Catch @ Aria is great atmosphere and awesome food.
- Javiers @ Aria is some awesome mexican food and the margs... dude go more than 2 and you'll be in trouble
Blackjack: Flamingo, Harrahs and Cromwell have some 3/2 tables with 10-15 per hand min. You end up with better odds and better players at the $25 tables (and no continuous shuffle!!)
-Stay on property with the majority of your gambling! You can wander the strip and gamble, but if you want free ****, play and eat where you stay.
This is not true... points are transferable between properties... as long as they are all under the same ownership..
Example: You can gamble and build points at the Cromwell and use said points at Linq, Harrah’s, Caesars, etc....
I tried to write this a few times without sounding like an ******* - so hopefully it's not too bad.
Comps are definitely a thing if you're not worried about your bankroll. I'm a bit of a degenerate gambler in Vegas and stay away from casinos 360 days/year. I had a buddy, who is about 10 years my senior (I'm 40) get us into the players cards, which I thought were going to be a joke, but they're not, at least at what we're playing.
To answer your question.
We're usually playing $15/$25 craps tables between 4-6 hours day, which might be light, every day we're there. It's not just the betting amount, but they want to see that you're the kind of jerkoff that will be at the tables for hours. So, that's where the cumulative totals that 2015 is referencing can really add up.
On a table like that you will probably average +$100 in play on the table every roll. Don't let that scare you, because craps has the best odds in the casino and you can usually build up to that level of betting, so unless the table is really cold you can play a while like that. This type of betting will generally require a bankroll of $500 - $700 per day to support. That money can come from the ATM you sheepishly hit at midnight when your daily limit was reset (1-800-bets-off), or the $2000 you won the day before that will carry you the rest of the trip.
We usually have a crew of 4-6 who are hammering the tables (for better or worse), one of which is usually betting 2x our amounts.
-Stay on property with the majority of your gambling! You can wander the strip and gamble, but if you want free ****, play and eat where you stay.
- tip the dealers. We had a guy crap out with the table loaded with money. They counted all of the chips for us before they raked them, which gave us 15 minutes more at "whale" status, which was awesome. That was the result of placing bets for the dealers with our $1s almost every roll.
That has gotten us the following the last 3 trips.
- Every meal has been comped. Breakfast and lunch is every man for himself, but dinner is always one of their high dollar restaurants . We're usually spending $100-$200 per person and are getting really good meals. I'm not usually a foodie, but have started really looking forward to things I don't normally eat.
- I haven't paid for a room there in 3 years. Aria twice and Venetian once. I'm now getting offers from each of those hotels for 3 nights free if I have "similar play".
In fairness the guy we go with probably get's us the meals, while we're each carrying our own rooms, but it's not like he can get more rooms or other cooler crap. ...He probably could, but he likes really nice meals. However, we're not that far off either. We're probably each getting $1000 in rooms every trip now.
Over the last 3-4 trips I've spent about $2000 total for all air fair, dining, rooms ($0), gambling, top golf, real golf, sports betting (thanks Dustin Johnson), and whatever else. So I'm at like $600/trip. I'm 100% due for a anal wrecking, but I think the worst I could do is negative $3000 to $5000 on a single trip and at least half of that would be on a credit card that I could deal with when I got home. I would be pissed at myself, but I not the end of the world.
