LOL, not family or friend of TJ. But I do know Trey Woodbury's dad, who is one of the players TJ escorted to the transfer portal when TJ got to UNLV. Trey had no choice, and especially for this year, that turned out to not be a good decision. And yes, TJ did push Amauri Hardy out the door to make way for Jenkins. I do know what happened at UNLV, I live in Vegas.I will keep saying this but the “new” posters that show up with an intimate knowledge of all of TJs decisions do nothing to help his cause among those that are skeptical. This happened last time as well. I’m not going to believe obvious friends and family over results.
Let him prove me wrong on his own.
I don't buy that. I have never known Jamie to be dishonest, or intentionally dishonest like that would be.Trust me UNLV wasn’t trying to extend otz. That’s JP way of trying to create demand.
I'm sure Pollard isn't lying about that. He isn't that dumb.
I believe what Jamie said in his statement today. He may have fudged the timeline a bit but that may be his perogative as AD. Call that (if true) dishonest if you want, but the leak to the media was not his idea either. Fans don't need all the details. You don't think things said about their coach leaving won't be watched by a single UNLV fan - and that word of it won't make its way back to the UNLV fanbase as a whole - and the administration? I'm sure some that don't like TJ and some that do like him as well will be asking the question about what was offered. That would be when the UNLV AD would confirm or deny the offer - or choose to not comment. If it were a lie, we would hear about it and Jamie knows that so he isn't going to say it if it isn't true.

So you don't think that former players who were recruited by him aren't going to endorse him? After seeing all these former players endorse TJ I'm feeling better about the hire.
In my opinion, Otzelberger nailed it. When he brought up Diante Garrett (underrated) that brought it home for me.
Holy double negative Batman! I'm pretty sure this means the opposite of what you intended, but I think it's entirely possible a former player would not endorse him if they didn't like him. They just wouldn't say anything. It's not like they are obligated to comment on the hire.So you don't think that former players who were recruited by him aren't going to endorse him?
Think it brings up another good point. We all expect (and some want) there to be a lot of player turnover after that debacle of a season. But it's not a problem if TJ decides there's a few guys he wants to keep around. Remember how much better DG and Scotty C played under Fred? If TJ keeps the better players around (Bolton) it can end up being a good foundation for him.
Why freak out? Why not discuss and analyze things rather than play pretend?
I’m optimistic about TJ. This can and should be a quick fix if we made the right hire.
Jamie, though, needs to get his **** together. And should be out if TJ fails, but there’s a good chance of that happening either way imo
Apparently this guy has never played sports, otherwise he wouldn't make such statements.Holy double negative Batman! Good post. You are much nicer than I am.Stop with the Quick Fix BS. We had 2 wins total over 2 really bad teams. Lost to EVERY Big XII while not winning a single game against Conference teams. And you are trying to claim it is a quick fix. Good Grief do you realize how many holes we need patched to even field a mediocre team. We know you want to set up TJ as a failure if he does not have a Winner right away. If we needed just a minor fix that would be quick then we likely would have just stuck with Prohm. Truth is that we are a Program that is beaten down that plays in a tough Conference, The Fix is not gonna be quick. If it is quick then it is because a sensational job of Coaching has taken place. This is not a quick fix. Stop.

And who's to say some of the younger players we have aren't good? Could be that Prohm just doesn't develop players well if they don't develop themselves. And I'm being generous when I say "could be".
Because they wanted an extensive interview list ... followed by hiring Fred. For those of you bashing the TJ choice, I have one simple question: why? Are you laying the groundwork for 'I told you so' someday? Are you trying to inflate your ego? Hedge your bets? Why on earth are you still here? I believe it's a really good question. And before the response ask yourself if you're answer is helping or hurting ISU basketball.
I, for one, am very excited after hearing TJ this morning. I know there will be bumps, but with his enthusiasm and just one thing he said, I know he'll reach championship caliber. The one thing? When he commented on how the players interact with each other independent of basketball. IMO, that's the key ingredients to any good team.
So, what you're saying is they're whining cause they didn't get their way. Ok. I agree.Because they wanted an extensive interview list ... followed by hiring Fred.
You know this for a fact? No, I would never think that because that would be the equivalent of coaching suicide when your teams aren’t even .500. Nobody but ISU had any interest in him at this point unless it was a lower level school
