I think they will end up at Washington at Michigan game unless one of those lose the 1st week.

That's the other thing are we sure Iowa is beating Indiana in Week 1? Should be a tough game for Hawks. Hell, based on our opening performances through the years I wouldn't consider our win a lock either.

They pick before the Week One games, iirc.

What’s the competition those Saturdays for the Texas or OSU (Homecoming) games?
Oklahoma State is in Ames Week 8:
USC at Notre Dame (this will be their pick)
LSU at Ole Miss
South Carolina at Texas A&M
Clemson at Pitt
Ohio State at Indiana
Cincinnati at Navy

Texas is in Ames Week 10:
LSU at Alabama (this will be their pick)
Florida at South Carolina
Auburn at Texas A&M
Oregon at Washington
USC at Arizona State
Navy at Notre Dame

It's right up there. We haven't beaten them in 5 years and we aren't getting into the playoffs if we lose that game. Add the fact they'll probably be nationally ranked. It's a huge game.

Nobody’s denying it’s a big game this year. But the ultimate goal is our first conference championship in over a century. Losing to UI again would suck balls, but it won’t derail our season.

If things shape up right, game in Norman could be one of the biggest games our program has ever played. Same thing for a potential rematch in Dallas.

OSU and UT will be in the hunt as well, so those games will be high stakes as well.

If ISU is going to lose a game and hope to end up in the CFP, it's that one, granted ISU runs the table or something.

It'd be great to get one more notch on the board and have Hok fans shut up for a few minutes but that's about it.

That's garbage. This team has all the tools to make the playoffs. Losing at home to our in-state rival in a non-conference game would be a ******* disaster.

This. Gone are those meager days of yesteryear when the only hope for a bright spot in football was to beat Iowa. The Iowa game is an important game, but it isn't even close to the biggest for us. And that's also proven by the fact that CMC has led us to the top 10 without a victory over the Hoks. Times have changed. It will always be a big game, but rarely will it be the most important.

Week 2 options E$PN would rather go to:
Oregon at Ohio State (because they love both)
Texas at Arkansas (pump up the future SEC teammates)
Washington at Michigan (ABC's 7pm game)
Utah at BYU (good rivalry)
Stanford at USC (good game)
There’s so many good football games this fall that I’m too mad at CFB too watch. If this realignment mess wasn’t happening I’d be glued to the TV, but some of these games now make me want to vomit because they’re exemplary of the bigger media game being played. Texas and Arkansas can certainly **** right off.

Iowa State has zero chance to make the playoffs if they lose to Iowa. That's even more of a reason for powerful people in charge to keep them out in favor of a 2 loss SEC team.

Win the championship and miss the playoffs because of an Iowa loss. The odds of beating OU twice aren't that good. So even if we do win the Big 12 we likely have 2 losses anyway.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to make the playoff. But it’s ******* hard when you’re not a blue blood, as we’ve seen.

I think we could do it with 1 loss, but we’d need some help and have to hope for a little chaos among the other top teams. I’d feel better about our chances with a conference title under our belt as well.

If we win the B12 and a trip to New Orleans, I’ll be happy. A playoff appearance would be gravy.
