Wayne Tinkle reminds me a lot of Greg McD. In size and playing style. Our defense was great, and we played extremely hard. But OSU stands around and tosses it in and out Jackie Moon style by design. How anyone can choose to watch or play that system is beyond me. Yuck.

Thing is, the way we were playing defense I wasn’t real scared that OSU was gonna go on a big run at the end, even when they pressed and hit a few shots.

We didn’t always handle the press well, but they have time to work on that. Helps when we can actually rebound and hit shots.

That's going back a few more years but you are probably right. I was strictly thinking about the assist part. In that sense he definitely has some Morris quality.

Folks these players are gritty and tough, they have earned my respect, reminds me a bit of Kane and Ejim, just the no nonsense attitudes.

Early in the game when the technical foul scrum happened with Condit, I was getting Homan vibes. Made me giddy.

Felt bad for Kunc after his breakaway basket on the pass from Hunter. He came back up court looking for a high five with his hand and arms up. Was all "High five? High five? Anyone, high five?"

Great start to the season. Couldn't have asked much more. The team is flawed but damn they play hard. So fun to watch.

Completely different roles, but he’s got great speed and handles

Hunter with 5 turnovers, but just 2 games at college level. Have to think he will improve on this with time and more experience. 7 assists is impressive!

Hunter reminds me of Blalock, Morris and Wigginton already. He has similar body as Will, athleticism like Lindell and a sense of pace like Monte.

There were a few in the 'just needs a season to turn it around' type mindset iirc.

Who knows how well TJ works out but denying a change was needed was weird.

Houston was very much on the "Steve is our savior" bandwagon, and it appears still to be true

Home from the game. This group deserves some solid fan support this season. I love this group of guys. The hustle their ***** off and can play some mean defense that like others have said hasn't been played at ISU in a long time.

Key play without a doubt up 8 and OSU is looking at a dunk to make it 6. Jones with an outstanding block leading to an and 1 for us on the other end to push it to 11. A critical 5 point swing.

I bet the place was rockin then! Neither team could buy a bucket, but then the block, and Brockington with a conventional 3 point play. Hilton fire baby!?

Was very impressed with the effort tonight on the defensive end and hustle plays. Turnovers like it was their job but that can be cleaned up, definitely optimistic we have a good start to turn this around!

The one downer to my first game this year is the new PA announcer. He sounds like a guy I've heard do games at the Well in Des Moines. He did alright I guess but Gary Wade was 1 in a million.

Damn. I actually forgot about this. Now I’m sad.

Hunter did have 5 TO tonight, tops on the team.
Crossover. Elevation, undersized guard. Rebounding, good shooter.

Can't help you if you didn't see shades of that Lindell dunk vs OU with that crossover dunk in the first half.
