He would have had a lot tougher look and there's narrow odds he draws a whistle there. He created a wide open look for a guy that had already hit four 3s. You can't ask for much more than that.

It was a 100 percent the right play by Hunter. Give me a clean look at 3 over a contested layup in a spot you aren’t going to get a whistle for contact.

Missed PI call on Eisworth against Oklahoma in football immediately comes to mind. Vanderbeken shot against Creighton as well.
That Vanderbeken shot is a good example. No replay cameras set up that game and it couldn’t be reviewed. Thanks I feel better now. FKU

maggie espenmiller-mcgraw should have been in for that last possession, I assume she was near lawrence on the bus back from manhattan.

Her or Kane, Kane hit a big 3 tonite also. Great of the ladies to steal one on the road tonite.

As bad as this sucks, so awesome to see Gabe hit shots, IB finish strong after a rough start, and Rob give some good minutes.

I freaking love the guts of this team.

Honestly BIG deal for them to stick with it when it looked like it was going to get saway from them. Shows they flushed the last 10 of the OU game.

Man though...Gabe's shot looked really good.

Yeah I don't get why you can review an elbow on a no foul call and then declare it a flagrant 1 but can't review a potential goal tend inside 2 minutes left. I'm not angry with the goal tend call as its tough to call that in real time plus throughout the game both teams usually get away with some other no-calls that had they happened late in a close game would have been magnified more. It's one of those things with all sports where sometimes I love the replay abilities and other times I wish we'd quit stopping the play so many times to over-analyze something in slow motion replay that didn't look like much in real time when it happened.

This is what needs answered in my book. Just like you cannot review a play to determine if basket interference occurred if not originally called, you cannot review a play to determine if a foul occurred.

There was no foul called on Jones during the course of normal game play. I don’t think the rule says an official can stop play and review to determine if a foul (common or flagrant) occurred in the past. If a foul is called, that foul call can be reviewed to see if it should be upgraded to flagrant (1 or 2), remain common OR be called a flop (flagrant the other way), but a foul has to be called first.

Please correct me if I’m wrong, but that is my understanding of the rule, and that didn’t happen on the Jones Flagrant 1. The officials, in that moment, used replay to determine if a foul occurred, called one AND upgraded it to Flagrant after a review.

[/QUOTE-interesting that we have to go back over 10 years to find an example where an opponent obviously got screwed by the refs. KU? 30 minutes.

Excellent question.

It used to be the way you have it laid out. They can in fact initiate review without a common foul whistled now.

We got the big screw job by the zebras at the phog but at the end should have never let the Kansas player penetrate the paint for a somewhat easy shot I feel we should have put more pressure on them for that last possession

Games like this hurt but it’s a good thing this is a veteran group who has a lot of experience and has been through grinders before. Even if the next couple of games don’t go our way I still see this team continuing to get better and stronger as the year goes on. I think everybody will be happy by the end of conference play.
