If K-State doesn't make the NCAA field most of us believe he should and will be gone. He's has a lot of credibility down here based on the two B12 championships and E8 run. Plus, he runs a clean ship.

But things have soured and this is the year he has to turn it around. Good dude. Hate to see him go. His players love him. But facing the brutal facts, I don't see him surviving without a tournament bid.
Would my idea of Turgeon have any real possibilities or is there someone else the fans would want?

I wrote a deeper dive on this today, which also gets into possible locations.

Like CW said, the good news is how the committee valued Quad 1 wins in the first release. I think the Big 12 also was heavily rewarded for being a tough league.

Turgeon is a Jayhawk. Cannot see him as K-State's coach. I don't know where they'll go. Certainly, not Marshall with all his baggage. Myself, I'd chat with Bryce Drew, Chris Jans, Chris Mack, and Jerome Tang.

K-State fan forums are toxic presently. Hard to read them and stay sane.

Well you think ISU and KSU's resumes are similar, so I think you aren't sane anymore, at least we know the source now.

He will be gone, and KSU will be far worse for it. Weber is a good coach and deserves a down year here and there. Especially during Covid years.

Tang would be a home run. I was disappointed we didn't pursue him.

The teams look similar to me. I never ever wrote the resumes were alike.

So in a thread about Big 12 bubbles, ostensibly about the resumes and who will make the tourney, you're going off of an eye test as of this very second. It directly contradicts your first post in this thread, and has nothing to due with the bubble. Makes sense.

I'm not sure KState will be worse, who knows. Bruce as weird as he is, seems to he a quality guy.

Some radio station I was listening to said he is 3-20 vs KU at KState and that's driving boosters nuts.

Honestly when has KSU ever done well against KU? That series is insanely lop-sided. I just looked it up out of curiousity, they only have 12 wins against KU since the mid-80s. Pretty much right on par with his predecessors.

I was just suprised to hear only 3 since Bruce has won a couple regular season titles.

This is from the editorial page of yesterday's Manhattan Mercury. Basketball used to be like football is today v. Ku. But K-State through all its resources toward the pigskin with Bill Snyder and basketball for whatever reason nosedived.

During my growing-up years, going to all those games, listening to Dev Nelson on the radio when the ‘Cats were in Lawrence, K-State went 21-10 against KU. We won more than twice as often as they did.

That’s just the way it was ... all the evidence led me to this basic mindset: We were going to beat KU. That’s what was supposed to happen. When it came down to crunch time, we would find a way to beat them. If they managed to steal one, it felt like a violation.

That’s why it still does, the last 70 games notwithstanding.

Those were the Jack Hartman days, the days of Lonnie Kruger, Chuckie Williams, Mike Evans, Curtis Redding, Ronaldo Blackman, Tim Jankovich, Ed Nealy and Tyrone Adams. Those guys have their jerseys in the rafters. KU had…oh, I dunno, Darnell Valentine or something. Paul Mokeski. I don’t know and I don’t care.

It felt like winning was K-State’s birthright. Ahearn was packed, game after game, year after year. Students camped out for tickets. KU choked. We didn’t.

If ksu is able to sweep ISU it is not an Indictment of isu, we had a terrible half and were clearly slumping when they played in ames. It was likely our worst overall half of the year and an outlier. It says very little about ISU not being worthy. If that ends up being our worst loss, I'd take that most any year.

KSU did earn it though and that says something when a team is able to upset a much more deserving team on the road.

Saturday might, MIGHT help elevate KSU. But now Isu's resume stands on its own. 9 wins against tournament quality wins with no bad losses.

KSU needs this game way more than ISU and its not even remotely close.

iowa state losing a quad 1 game isn't an issue for them.

so whose it an issue for?

not an issue for k-state. theyd pick up a quad 1 win themselves which they need.
I think a win at home over ISU right now would be a Quad 2 win for KSU since ISU is not in the Top 30 of the NET right now (they are 35th).
