I stopped listening to literally anything he says publicly years ago. It's all coach speak jibber jabber. I didn't really care as long as we were looking decent. . .
I miss things such as "Bulls-it football programs care about 6-6." That made sense but as time passes it seems that may be the ceiling after all.

Earle Bruce and it is not even close. The 2020 year was fun but that kind of season has only happened exactly once in the entire history of college football. The 2017 and 2018 seasons were the overall best for CMC in terms of consistent performance during the typical college football year. I would put any of Bruce's teams against any CMC team with 8 out of 10 going to Bruce.
Bruce had it going and was very close to winning the stellar Big 8.

Maybe CMC likes 4-5 win teams better than 6-6?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Campbell will not do any self reflection on the offense. He hasn't on special teams for how many years now.... he won't on offense either. He is KF.... stubborn to the bone.
You are not bursting my bubble. I'm afraid you are right. He is stubborn to a fault. It may be his downfall. Unfortunately.

He has all the goodwill from me, and more than likely most Cyclone fans. It's just that it could be that much better if he would just show even a small amount of new offensive innovation. And he hasn't. Ultimately it his his call.

There has to be new blood on the offensive coaching side or we will be left in the dust of the new Big 12. I doubt that is what he wants so we'll see. We may be waiting a while.

I agree. It can be nauseating. He needs to stay, however the next step in his evolution as a coach is to make the tough uncomfortable decisions. Manning needs to go.

I will say, a boss who is unwilling or unable to fire subordinates who aren't performing, really isn't a good boss.

I will also say I don't really care for coaching revolving doors, but Manning has had PLENTY of time.

Looks like terrible offensive coaching. Dekkers runs one series...never happens again. Sanders runs one series...never happens again...the coaches are micromanaging the offense to failure. They ran with Sanders multiple times north and south with success, and later called an awful slow man's sweep for a five yard loss on 2nd and 5...never touched it again...every series is a strategic crap shoot...absolutely embarrassing from the offensive coaching staff.

Even if you throw out 2020, show me an ISU coach who finished the conference 4th, 3rd, 3rd, (1st but you are excluding 2020) and 4th in 4 consecutive seasons? Many of you need to sleep on it and cool off a bit. We used to be a program just happy to get 6 wins to be bowl eligible.
Those are all good points. On the other hand this year is headed towards 9th or10th place with an unwatchable offensive scheme. Recruiting ratings have been improving while performance has been declining. The offense needs a rework of the magnitude the defense got when moving to a 3-3. Campbell and crew have shown they are capable of change. It isn’t unreasonable for fans to see a need for change. I would prefer to see this staff grow and change but if they choose not to eventually change will come anyway. None of us want to wait as long as we waited with CSP.

I hope we don’t have to start worrying about Kohl…

Not sure if I were a top tier QB prospect I’d sign up for this mess
There is something to this. People who want to play like this went to Iowa. I didn't see much but the KU backup looked better than what HD is doing right now. That's not good.
I agree that we might be forgetting how often ISU got destroyed in years past but I would also still like to have some hope and some entertainment. I certainly can't say fire anyone (well maybe the OC) but how this year finishes up will say a lot about what to expect going forward. If they can't get HD comfy and be a threat to score 20 once in a while, it won't be much fun, even if we are losing close.

I agree. It's either the staff or there is just zero talent on the offensive side of the ball.
