Literarlly have fans booing the QB the OC and the players 2 hours east of here at every single home game...Non stop..

OK, then.

This fan base is truly one of the most patient and supportive fan bases you will find in all of sports.
I see a strong disconnect here. Your words don't seem supportive at all. Especially booing the players such as the QB, non stop. Do you really mean this or would you like to walk this back some?

Maybe I am misunderstanding you?

And the meetings you're reverting to again, he said he sees good things. CMC is protecting his guys (players and coaches). Nothing wrong with that and good leaders take the blame. Good leaders also know when change is needed internally and I know we all hope to see some of that before next season.
Yes, but even against Tech, our offense had multiple opportunities late in the game to win it, but failed to execute. The D can only do so much- at the end of the day, the O has to put points on the board and the fact is, they just ain’t scoring.
The last two weeks, I thought ISU was in great position at the half after overcoming some adversity. In both games, I was thinking, just score a TD, and this game will belong to the Cyclones! No TDs. No victories. So close, so close!
I was thinking to myself, before the game yesterday (while watching some of the OkieState v Tech game) about how exciting and entertaining the Big12 is. The teams and football are fun to watch!

Then I watched the product we put out against KU and K-State. We are not holding up the overall excitement level of Big 12 football!

Sad but we are not going anywhere without some change. Except further down? It is amazing how some of the other (all of them?) teams in our league have caught up to us (if they were behind) and surpassed us. It certainly seems we are letting a very good defense go to waste.

I read the first page, and not the other 24. But honestly he probably isn’t wrong. Now, I think the majority probably didn’t. But it only takes a vocal minority. And obviously trolls from other fan bases have chirped in. Who knows what a few students around campus said to him, and obviously the Twitter idiots tweeting players in frustration.

Or maybe someone showed him some Gameday thread posts.

It's pretty easy to tune out internet **** talking by... not checking socials and reading what people are saying. No one is talking **** to him in person.

Most 18 year olds have social media, also it’s a college campus. Most may not, but there’s always the idiots who do. Like I said, the vocal minority can be pretty loud. Especially when the supporters are quiet.

Do you really believe that as a freshman in college, full ride athlete that it is easy to shut off social media while walking around campus and your dorm?

JFC. It’s at most 24 hours of ******** and then everyone moves on. These are football players with the strongest support system on campus not the fat girl from Boyden that **** her pants while she was puking in front of the dorm.

“There has to be a point in time where we draw the line and quit disappointing them (fanbase).” Campbell 9/4/16
I miss those kind of endearing quotes from Campbell. Pot shots at the fan base and equating a successful season to how together the team is while we piss away the most talented team in Iowa State history has really started to jade me

Typical attempt at being funny - it's funny until it's not. You have no idea what is going inside #20's head.

However, it sounds like you do have specific experience/knowledge of the girl from Boyden. Is that you?

Breaking news: everyone over the age of 20 knows what goes on inside the head of a 20 year old.

It’s not me. I’m just the guy that took her back to my room after it happened.

Watching sports on WHO13 and actually hearing Campbell talk about our fanbase frying a freshman kicker. Definitely did not care for it at all.

That's why I think going under center might help us actually.

Someone had linked the video somewhere of NFL defensive players saying it's a lot more difficult defending against a QB under center than in shotgun.

Yeah, we could learn from the NFL where.. checks notes… shotgun use is increasing.

Clonedude is right. But it wasn't just about going under center, it was about using play action under center. Marcus Spears and Ryan Clark were saying more NFL teams should go under center because it's way harder on the defense. When a QB is in shotgun and does a run fake the DTs (or anyone rushing) can just pin their ears back and go after the QB. If he hands the ball off, tackle the RB on the way to the QB. When the QB is under center and does play action, the rushers have to honor the play fake and make sure it isn't a run. Gives them way more to think about and defenders don't want to have to think.

They said it would be really helpful to young inexperienced QBs...you know, like Dekkers.

Here on CF I didn't see a single post that fried Jace. The posts i saw understood how he overcompensated on the 3rd kick.

I 100% believe that CMC had our kicker’s best interest in mind when he chose to kick the field goal at the end of the Kansas game. He was showing confidence in the kid when maybe logic said otherwise. I believe Matt will always put the kid first. I also think that decision had a positive impact on the success our kicker had this week.

I also think Matt embellished his comments about the fan base in his comments this week about fans frying the kicker. I would say few if any directly attacked Jace, but that doesn’t mean Jace didn’t feel like he let the team down and a lot of the negativity in the fan base was directed at him even if it wasn’t. I know, however, there were many tweets and posts on CF ripping on our special teams and some even questioning why we can’t ever have a good kicker. It is easy to see where that connection is made even if it wasn’t intended.

Also, this weekend I have seen a couple of tweets from parents of players asking the fans to continue supporting this team. Thinking players and families can tune the negativity out is a little naive.
