You realize that ESPN has contractual obligations, right? They don't just get to change their minds about what games they show on a whim. The fact that this game is not flexed to ESPNU (which covers the Drake vs. Bradley) is absolute ********!!!!

It's not like both teams sucked when they decided what games go on the main channels today. ISU coming off a Sweet 16 bid against the defending Champs. You realize that ESPN has contractual obligations, right? They don't just get to change their minds about what games they show on a whim.
They're showing Cincinnati-SMU during the time slot on ESPNU so i hear you! I can see how this pushes the loyal fan bases to ESPN+ though. The fact that this game is not flexed to ESPNU (which covers the Drake vs. Bradley) is absolute ********!!!!
It’s the latter. It's not like both teams sucked when they decided what games go on the main channels today. ISU coming off a Sweet 16 bid against the defending Champs.
It's either blatant disrespect for our program or a money grab to get more subscribers since they know these are the 2 most passionate fanbases in the conference.
It's not even the latter. Its simply that they picked three Kansas games to put on ESPN+ against three of the worst projected teams in the conference. It’s the latter.

And was mentioned earlier, they can't flex games as they still have agreements with other conferences. If you flex something from ESPN+ to ESPN2, then you have to do the same with whoever is on ESPN2...
Nope. The only time games are flexed is if one is cancelled or something of the like, or if its determined before the season (like the handful of our games that are listed as ESPN/2/U.ABC has paid programming according to my guide and then some movie. Wonder if they could have done it then. Maybe if it were in late February.
It's an NFL Wildcard day which doesn't help.
Oh well; I just had a Bucky fan ask me this week if ISU has been on TV at all. If ISU were on three channels per game these folks wouldn't know it because they're too busy tuning into the BTN to hear about Nebraska's 'vaunted' average defense.
Use the Varsity AppQuestion for those that stream John & Eric instead of the dimwits on ESPN. I have done this with my phone and cyclones.com. But every 10 minutes or so, the feed just stops. I have to pickup my phone and re-click the link, even though the little widget says it is still going. Anyone run into this before and has a fix?
Yes it's a money grab, if you want the conference to make more money this is what it takes. So many shortsighted takes on this. It's not like both teams sucked when they decided what games go on the main channels today. ISU coming off a Sweet 16 bid against the defending Champs.

Yup, can’t wait for two or three games to also be on ESPN++ next year. Sign up boys!Yes it's a money grab, if you want the conference to make more money this is what it takes. So many shortsighted takes on this.
This could be game of the week and it’s on ESPN+???!?!
If they can’t figure it out, you’re going to just have to take charge, and fix it for them.Called the local Buffalo Wild Wings / BWW / Bdubs. They claim to have the commercial ESPN+ package, but haven't completely figured it out yet. I am skeptical about this, but will guinea pig it today. For today, I can always get it on my smarty phone, if they falter, while watching SF on a big screen.

ISU @ KU is on the air at BWW. It is an excellent, very sharp picture. Not like at home, where it can be choppy at times. They are able to place it on any screen, just like their Direct TV channels. Word is this is a corporate arrangement, and ought to be available at any BWW.If they can’t figure it out, you’re going to just have to take charge, and fix it for them.
A better question is WHY DIDNT THE BIG 12 ESTABLISH ITS OWN NETWORK LIKE SAY the Big Ten...the ACC...the SEC!Oh ****, I need a subscription to ESPN- too? It's all a money grab.
The answer is very simple. Texas and OU wanted control of their tier 3 media rights. Hindsight says it didn’t matter because they are leaving anyway.A better question is WHY DIDNT THE BIG 12 ESTABLISH ITS OWN NETWORK LIKE SAY the Big Ten...the ACC...the SEC!
If you don't like seeing big time college basketball on a SMALL SCREEN...YOU CAN BLAME BOB BOWLSBY FOR THIS MESS!!
I watched the game on espn plus on my computer but I am not going to subscribe next year...I WILL LISTEN TO JOHN AND ERIC
Because the ACC Network is nowhere near profitable and ESPN wasn't making that mistake again.A better question is WHY DIDNT THE BIG 12 ESTABLISH ITS OWN NETWORK LIKE SAY the Big Ten...the ACC...the SEC!
