At least it doesn’t violate laws of physics. It could not have went over backboard, changed direction mid air, and landed where it did without hitting an out of camera object in rafters.
Let me introduce you to a concept called “spin”.

It can, and did. Watch it again. Whether that’s what they called or not can be debated apparently.

And there is no such thing as offensive goaltending, so it couldn’t have been that.
Not correct. There is offensive basket interference.

On the sky dunk, I’ve never seen one fly like that before so probably caught everyone a bit off guard. I don’t remember if the officials huddled on that one to discuss.

Both can be true. Did we get screwed out of 3 more points than they did?

And we'll be gifted points in Hilton as well. That's life in the Big12. You've gotta learn how to overcome it or just accept that's why the home teams have such a high winning percentage.

Tough one, we win that with a healthy Grill. Hope he’s able to come back full bore and it’s not something that lingers.

OSU is the closest to ISU in the league, but they aren’t in the same planet as ISU in physicality. ISU was on the wrong end of the foul calls by a few, which is life on the road for every college team that isn’t KU, MSU, etc.

Do you think Gabe and Holmes actually only combined to commit 3 fouls on the game?

My point is someone said 23-12 or whatever it was and was outraged. Watch Gabe and Holmes trap. They probably commit a foul by the book every trap.

Embrace it. ISU is an elite defensive team that’s going to push it to and over the edge in terms of contact and fouling. We are going to have a lot more fouls than pretty much every opponent because we initiate more contact. It’s well worth it.
I don't disagree, but it always seemed like Press Virginia got a different whistle despite being insanely physical. Perhaps I'm remembering wrong.

Road teams started out strong this year, I’ll wait to judge on their return trip to Hilton.

Lots of halves where opponent crashes glass on them and they commit 3 fouls? Doubtful.

Again, again, I said again, I know ISU fouls a lot. Our fouls were real. OK st fouled a ton more than they got called for and were not the aggressive team on offense at all which generally helps a team get calls, it seemed to somehow hurt ISU in first half that we had aggressive offense. Rare thing.

Usually you only see that call when the ball is close to going through the cylinder again after a missed attempt, not 50 ft in the air.
Or when an offensive player is hanging on the rim when the ball touches the rim.

How do you know he isn’t? He isn’t demonstrative about it obviously, but I’d bet he’s letting them know.

He might be......I don't know. But in 32 minutes that hands on, in your face defense OSU plays was called for all of 5 fouls. 5!

And it wasn't like our guys were chucking it from 25 feet. They were going inside almost the entire game.

So maybe he is and they aren't listening.......and/or OSU is just really good at playing clean defense.

That missed goal tend was egregious. Not foul related.

I want to see again, everyone’s memory is always horrible (some great research on it), but I thought it pretty clearly came down in front of the basket.

I watched it like 4 times. It wasn’t much behind the basket, but it was. Here are a couple of stills that show what I’m referring to with the referee and the OSU player standing behind the backboard.

That's one of the most obvious goal tends I've seen in recent memory. More obvious than at KU last season.

It's of small comfort now, but I hope the league office is at least writing another apology letter.

Coach Otz needs to make sure the team can get off a better shot with 3.3 seconds left. That's something that should be practiced over and over again. I've seen teams take it the full length of the court in less time than that.

Similar situation at the end of the 1st half. We had 1.5 seconds left but didn't even attempt a shot. We are good enough to sweep the rest of our close games with better coaching and better FT shooting.

That was a goaltend that you do to your toddler on those 4 ft hoops when they start shooting mid range jumpers instead of dunks.
