That's one of the most obvious goal tends I've seen in recent memory. More obvious than at KU last season.

It's of small comfort now, but I hope the league office is at least writing another apology letter.
It's inexcusable to miss that call. Everyone in the world saw it except apparently for 3 guys whose job it is to notice obvious s**** like that.

I don't disagree, but it always seemed like Press Virginia got a different whistle despite being insanely physical. Perhaps I'm remembering wrong.
For the heck of it I checked past games vs ISU. Looks like they mostly were in the low 20s at home with an occasional game in the teens. On the road they had mid- to upper-20s fouls.

UT got called for 7 more fouls than ISU in Hilton. ISU is more physical than Texas, that includes pushing the edge of fouling. That exact game in Austin is going to get officiated pretty differently.

Yeah, teams like Iowa with crap defenses.

For being the 6th ranked defensive team in college basketball we sure do give up huge leads. We just blew a 20 point lead in Norman a couple weeks ago in another game we could have easily lost.

We also blew a double digit lead in a couple minutes against Villanova that almost cost us a loss.
It has nothing to do with defense. Even the best defenses don't hold teams scoreless. We are not a good offensive team. Everyone knew that. Take away 2 of our best shooters and yeah, we are going to struggle on offense at times.

I watched it like 4 times. It wasn’t much behind the basket, but it was. Here are a couple of stills that show what I’m referring to with the referee and the OSU player standing behind the backboard.

Thx

Watching live I thought it came down in front of the basket and there’s just no way if that was case.

I’m not sure they’re really behind it, more parallel but at least possible.

What did you expect him to do today with Grill out and Lipsey in foul trouble?
Get into the offense that when it’s at its best is moving the ball … possessions without passes is not it

The offense is totally different without Tamin at the point. Jaren needs to focus on initiating the offense. It shouldn’t look like a different team.

Coach Otz needs to make sure the team can get off a better shot with 3.3 seconds left. That's something that should be practiced over and over again. I've seen teams take it the full length of the court in less time than that.

Similar situation at the end of the 1st half. We had 1.5 seconds left but didn't even attempt a shot. We are good enough to sweep the rest of our close games with better coaching and better FT shooting.
That's a tough situation off a missed free throw. The bigger issue was the King 3 attempt at the end. I know he hit one against Texas, but that's not the shot to take in that situation.

I was pretty astounded we didn’t even get near half court. Gabe has shown he’s a great player for tgat but you can’t expect a 3/4 court shot to have a chance.

Yes, home teams USUALLY get an edge.

But I wouldn't bet the farm at Hilton we have a 16-4 edge on TCU or 15-5 on Okie State at any time during those games. I can see 16-11............15-10. It makes a difference.

And I use those as examples because they both play hands on type of defense.

Holy ****. We lost by two on the road.

KU got throttled at home today by 23 ******* points by a team we beat on the road. Step off the ledge. **** happens.
Nope, I've seen it over and over and over again. We have a team that can beat anybody at home but turns around 3 days later and cant beat a team with the 161st ranked offense in front of about 2,000 fans. It's been the exact same story for 40 years with the exception of the Eustachy teams.

It's why when we think we might actually contend some years we still end up finishing 2 or 3 games behind the conference champion.

Lipsey also never got traction with fouls and Holmes's floater couldn't hit.

Kansas, Kansas St, and Texas will all win down there and that's why we'll finish behind all of them in the standings.

It's the Hoiberg special, win a huge game in Ames then turn around 3 days later and lose to a bad team in front of a half full arena. It's why Kansas always wins the league and we finish 11-7 or 12-6 in our good years.

Dude just jump off the edge and get it over with

So if it's happened for 40 years what exactly are you complaining about?

Bball is a game of runs. If we hold OSU to 40 pts that's as much a failure of OSU as ctedit yo ISU

OSU stepping up and hitting threes after not doing so in prior games was not cool man.
I very much knew it would happen. Felt like we over extended a bit on pressure trying to force things and gave up some extra open looks. May be lack of Grill as well

Hey, be happy with that 7 seed if you want. I actually have tickets to Des Moines this year so thought it would be cool to see my favorite team play there. That's not happening with losses like this.
Hey,no Jaz or Grill. They will be back and it’s payback time.
