Delivering a gun to be used in a murder won't get you dismissed from team.
So what does?

There's plenty of places where that gets you removed from the team.

I should be surprised that that situation has been used as an example or comparison...but I'm not of course.

The Troy Davis's, Marcus Fizers, Craig Brackins, Talen Horton Tuckers etc. etc...totally came to ISU for free. We're ISU, we don't cheat. Higher standards, do things right........ Blah blah blah......
Were we paying them better than we will is now, because I don’t know where that money was coming from

If I hear the word assume again, you’re all of the team!

I assume you didn’t mean me, right coach?

Guys, it’s really not that difficult. TJ confronted Caleb about what he was saying. Grill confirmed it was true. TJ said (more or less) you won’t be a part of this team anymore. You can either transfer now and make it look like you’re leaving on your own terms or you can stick around, travel with the team, but you won’t play, and we’ll blame it on your back injury, then after the season you can announce you’re transferring. The team, including shoon, did not have input on this decision.

Caleb chose the second option. TJ informed the team what’s going on. Given how he’s been in practice, games, and the locker room these last handful of weeks, they came to a unanimous decision it’s best to rip the bandaid off so that he’s not a distraction the remainder of the season and they can try to get back to how they were playing earlier in the season.
If TJ had decided, why would he present Caleb with two choices and then pick the opposite of what Caleb picked? Why would he present choices at all that he wasn’t going to follow through on?

They first voted on whether or not Osun got a vote, then they vote on Caleb, then they voted on dinner.
Then they voted on how much they should listen to you, or not.

I'm kidding. Unfortunate deal with Caleb. I just read Caleb's statement again. He will always be a Cyclone. He loved being a Cyclone. We will always love him back.

Has it been confirmed what Caleb said to whom?

I'm guessing the talking trash about TJ getting out-coached was the "thing he said" that he regretted? I dunno, hoping it's something that tame. Not that it's great, but there are a lot worse things that could be said (CW did confirm yesterday on his pod that it was NOT any kind of slur, FTR).

I'm guessing that was the final line to cross after other issues.

Like a lot of things in life, probably best pull the chord now than let it fester.

I'm not as close to the program as most of you, but Grill has been an integral part of what, at least, started out to be a pretty decent season. Why would Coach Otzelberger dismiss him for this somewhat understandable mental error on the court? Was there more behind the scenes that we never heard about. He seems to be leaving feeling good about his time on the team. Was it not mutual?
Who, on here, is close to the program?

Oh he's talking to them? Great.

It's working amazingly.

Loved both WVU games. Great officiating.

Maybe they were practicing some shot clock/ end of game plays and Caleb told TJ what all of us say when we watch the magic unfold: Ain't gonna work coach.
Blaming officials for losses is ***** stuff.

Eli won't play. For years now, only the best 6 play meaningful minutes.

Bench talent never gets a chance to develop.
This is just not true.

This season there have been 8 players averaging over 16 minutes a game, with all of those essentially playing every game they are available. In addition, a ninth - Watson - has played 11 minutes a game in 25 of the 29 games.

Last year 9 players averaged over 12 minutes a game pretty much all of them playing in every game they were available.

Maybe this has already been said in this thread but about all the things I've seen written about the dismissal paints a dark picture for the team going forward. But it's entirely possible that this is exactly what was needed. Without any acrimony pointed at Caleb Grill by me it could be that the team is glad to see him go and it's just the thing that triggers them to play all the better. I say this knowing I have no clue about the specifics of this situation but I've seen it work that way in others. SOMETHING has been different since we beat Kansas (the #3 team in the nation) by 15 points as we've gone 1-6 since then. So we'll see,
