Agree about the hours as that would be awful if you had a family. Low pay though? I'm guessing most of the on air personalities make 6 figures.

What is the average salary of a tv meteorologist around here?

EDIT: you already answered
Just wanted to come back around on this because @ChrisMWilliams and Hassell discussed pay during the ESPN layoff segment of Monday's 2GNC (right around the 45 minute mark if you want to listen to it). They mentioned that someone who is new(er) in the media industry signed their first contract for $25k LESS than what one of their coworkers first contract a number of years ago.

Regardless of the last couple of years of inflation you are looking at decades of slowly rising inflation etc. with declining pay.

Not exactly sure.

Problem with ESPN is they have been tanking and losing money. Maybe they were over paying people before? If the demand isn’t there but you still have decent supply, then wages will either hold or drop.

felt like fall last night

ready for football season.

Some dry/dead leaves were on the ground today after a big rain yesterday and it smelled like fall for sure.

I've still got lots to do for the summer but I got pretty excited for the gluttony of football Saturdays.

We just deleted several postings here.

If you want to talk current weather in the midwest and extreme weather events around the country this is the thread.

If you want to talk global warming, well, that's going to go political and you know it. Don't play stupid and pretend otherwise. It's not a good look. There's a Cave forum thread for it. Use it.

On that note of warming..........anyone remember the heat wave of 1995? It was happening about this time of year and peaked around the 12-13 of July. Around 700 people died in Chicago alone. On the 13th Cedar Rapids had a heat index of 131. Heat indexes of 120+ were common in the entire midwest for many days in a row. The temp. at Sioux City on the 12th was 108...............................at 6pm!

I really, REALLY appreciate the weather we are having now.

I feel like I was playing soccer in the Iowa games at that time.
