Usually when you quit a job with nothing else lined up, you were likely going to be fired soon, and you knew it… so you instead throw your middle fingers up, quit, and say it was on your terms the way Andrew Downs did it.

He mentioned today something to the effect of not being able to bring all the energy and fire to the job that a younger guy could… he’s being replaced in the interim by a guy who’s like 22 or something. Not in those words, but it sounds to me that perhaps the higher ups maybe want “young blood” in his role.

that island napoleon got sent to
I think Stanz's is abundantly clear he had a falling out with CW. Otherwise why would'nt they have a fun farewell podcast? Why wouldn't Stanz still do some freelance podcasting for the Iowa Everywhere network? Can do that from wherever you live.

What shocks me about Andrew Downs is that he was a higher up.

its not that surprising... Iheart was gutting KXNO before Covid.....

outrage etc etc... now they have the perfect excuse to drop them all.

lots of corpo shifts are coming

Surprising news about Downs, but I'm sure he had a short fuse with iHeart after the layoff runaround. Will be curious to see if he stays in sports/media or pursues something else.

I have no information, but there was zero chance AD was going to get fired. Sometimes people get sick of jobs and are fortunate enough that they can get by for a period of time without a job.

He's been doing the same thing, every day, for the last how many years? Maybe dude just wants a change in scenery. I'm in the same age range as AD and at the same job now for almost 15 years. Sometimes I get antsy wondering what else is out there. I know I've got a lot to offer, I just don't know where or doing what.

It's super possible and even likely there's stuff going on behind the scenes, but it's entirely possible dude just wants to try something new.

Yep. Why people choose to switch jobs, change careers, move somewhere else...the list goes on.

It's possible it could be something nefarious/some drama behind the scenes, but people tend to default to that when it's likely simply what you stated.

Agreed about Stanz, something happened that he all of a sudden "left" especially considering his past where he took a long leave from Fanatic. Also, I could have sworn he had a job lined up to be a K-State beat reporter. When I checked his Twitter bio a couple of weeks ago, there was no mention of him having any job.

I remember some really malicious stuff now that I think of it. It was way back in the mists of time when Dwyane Crutchfield was a monster. We THREW ORANGES (on account of Orange Bowl fever) on the field. We had criminally thought we had the right to exhibit that deranged behavior in public!

LOL I remembered it as the 1st game of the season 1st score we would throw oranges into the end zone. Exact same reason though that we were going to the Orange Bowl. I wouldn't argue with your version though.
There has been a few times stuff has landed on the court in Hilton but very eldom in a mass barrage.
