I highly encourage everyone to go to Cyclone road games.

I was at the game in Waco. Though the game was far from perfect, it was deeply satisfying to assemble with the Cardinal-clad throng in the southeast corner of the stadium to watch the final kneel downs and cheer for the team exiting the field.

Also, an unexpected benefit of going to Cyclone road games is that it is easy to talk with the players’ parents. If you want to better under stand the Cyclones’ “5 star culture”, invest some time talking with the parents. You will come away with a better understanding the Cyclones’ grit, tenacity, grace under fire and how they persevered through some bad plays and weather to win a conference road game.

I encourage you to get to know some players’ parents. It will be a very uplifting and encouraging experience as well as a boon to your Cyclone fandom.

Parents weren't there but I've been to the Gateway when the team stayed there so you'd see them walking around throughout the night and morning.

They carried themselves very well but you could also sense that they were just as dorky as many other college students and it put things at a very human level.

We as fans want things to go well and it can be frustrating or stressful as a spectator but I don't think we have any idea just how much goes into what these players do.

Greatest enjoyment I've ever had as a Cyclone fan was traveling to Norman OK in 2017 and watching them beat the Sooners in person!

Is reading that hard for some people? I said we have played a B10 West type of schedule so far, and we have outside of OU and maybe OSU. We caught OSU when they were still messing around with their QB's, Baylor is bad, Cinn has not won a conference game, and the only two games TCU has won in conference is Houston and BYU.

Our schedule from here on out is the most difficult of any of the teams with one or two losses.
I don’t think this is true. They played Bowman the whole game I thought??? Bowman is who played as qb1 ever since our game, so I’d argue we played against their best qb

I agree we need to be realistic, but it's OK to consider the possibilities. This team is steadily improving and I believe we have some chance at in all our remaining games. Considering pre-season expectations, we're playing with house money. Let's enjoy the ride.

Busted coverage, I say a very well done pick play. Our recievers need to study how to do it right.
Yes, that was a well-designed play against man coverage, sweeping the inner slot receiver all the way to the sideline behind the two outside receivers screening him/blocking the defender trying to catch up. Very tough to defend that with an inside DB on the slot man who gets slowed in the wash of the other two receivers/DBs. Gotta credit Baylor for a perfect situational play call against man to man. It never would have gone for 70 yards vs zone, or even if ISU kept a safety over the top.

That was the first game that OSU had only played one QB up until that point. It was pointed out during the broadcast that OSU was still working on their QB situation. OSU and ISU are the two teams that were playing a lot of players for the first time in their system. Remember OSU had all those players leave the program, and us because of the gambling issue. It took both squads 3 games to figure out who could play at this level and who was not ready too. How much time has the other young QB played since the first couple of weeks? Not much, I am sure they want to red shirt him, but Rocco has been playing well and right now there has not been a need.

He was trying to dislodge the ball so it would be ISU ball and not a first down, which is exactly what he should have been doing.
Oh really? Most plays I've seen where the ball is dislodged its either punched out or they at least try to involve their arms in the process. He lowered his shoulder right into his head and neck, classic targeting, hence why he was ejected.

Like I said before, learn how to tackle instead of trying to get on TikTok. Not even 2 plays before that Jeremiah Cooper made a textbook form tackle which is how the game is suppose to be played. Go back and watch it.

Remember, not even 7 days ago everyone was officiating professionals on here so you should agree it was the correct call.

I was told several times that you are supposed to play to a level that doesn't leave it up to an official's call. Maybe you Iowa fans should listen to your own advice.

Good to hear we are in agreement then that it was targeting. Sanders did the exact same thing in the Colorado game and was promptly ejected.

It was the correct call and the way they are calling games now because of the safety issue. 10 years ago, players could get away with hitting the WR high trying to knock the ball out, now it's a penalty. I doubt if he intended to hit the WR in the head, just a bang bang play and it happens. He sat out his half and let's move on.

This is really not that big of a surprise, given it’s the CR Gazette, but … 1) how do you mistake a running back for a defensive player, and 2) Sama is wearing number 24, it’s right there in front of you, how do you confuse that with a 7? (Or was Verdon wearing 24 yesterday, I don’t know, the official roster says 7).

Or this explains why we didn’t see Sama later in the game, he’d transformed into Malik Verdon without us realizing it.

Lmao TCU and OSU would beat any team in the B1G West. That division is historically bad.
There’s like 2.5 legitimate P5 QBs in that entire division. It is laughable. Iowa’s D is good, but getting to play 4 games against teams that basically don’t field a QB really makes them look better than they are.

That has to be intentional. "Running back Malik Verdon"

Check the roster - 24 is a running back, Abu Sama

Malik Verdon is listed as a DB

We were still figuring things out too.
