And none of that matters for this specific year.

ISU won't need to play their best game all season, but will need to play their best game of the past two weeks.

Not sure why I’m arguing with you because it doesn’t matter but saying that analytics based on this year’s team doesn’t matter is certainly a take.

You said the game would be really, really tough. Iowa isn’t that good. If we play like we did tonight, we win. No question.

Decided to miss watching this one live since we basically had four night games in a row last weekend and my wife was really cool about that. Only seeing the box score and trying not to check it too often is somehow more stressful than watching it live. Going to watch the replay now.
Sounds like you need to go the portal for a new wife.

In a rivalry game?

Totally my decision, she wouldn't have said a thing. We've settled into an arrangement where we both do our own thing every day, except for about 6-9 on weekdays and 6-10 on weekends, but she never complains about night games. 4 in a row on a holiday weekend just felt like a bit much, and I honestly missed that time with her. So no portal for me.

Pav over Curtis Jones should have happened awhile ago.

Yeah absolutely. C Jones definitely can turn things around but he simply hasn’t earned his minutes. Tonight, Pav did.
The most CF thing is the one-game swings from player sucks to deserves to start. Both will play significant roles. Jones had a decent game and has demonstrated throughout the season that he can handle and plays really good defense.

While the win is good and we should be happy. DePaul is extraordinarily bad, and really poorly coached on top of that. Honestly it's rare to see a team at this level give that little effort defensively. I wouldn't take much from this game. This was more or less just exercise.

A little over 20 years ago my son promised his bride a max X number of hours watching sports each week. He was watching a CyHawk game in Iowa City and chose to turn it off at halftime so that he could conserve his hours. Besides, the Cyclones were down 17 at the half.
Yup. That was the Seneca come-back game. Ooops...

Wow, that's a tough one lol. I think placing limits on it keeps my priorities straight, even though the hamsters in my head are running their butts off anyway.

Started out rough but finished fairly well. Great defense played at times. Lots to work on but keep building towards conference play.

An aside, I think Omaha needs to relax some. There are flashes when you can see why he was a 5 star. I don't know if he's pressing too much or what. The game will slow down for him. I have a feeling he's going to win us a game or two this season.
