There is a little difference in the geography, but not significant. Vegas is easier for the current Big Xii than the two California locations. Not a major difference, but some. I think a random game @ Las Vegas would draw better than @ Rose Bowl or @ San Diego.
No, it does not bother me at all. Part of my preference for @ Vegas is to actually cultivate the Big Xii footprint in the Western part of the country. That is one of the reasons for expansion. We want the Big Xii brand to be stong out west like it is in our part of the world now.
One thing I have thought of during this discussion that would be a negative about leaving @ Arlington is that the Big Xii would lose the football recruiting bump that being there has, AND if the Big Xii leaves Dallas Metro for that big event, it turns the area over to the SEC 100%. We definitely want to keep the Dallas Morning News and Media tuned into the Big Xii.
Like I said in an earlier thread, I am not willing to die on this hill, but I do see potential merits in the Football Game being in Vegas. It is 100% better than the Florida options and slightly better than the California options.
At the end of the day, we should want the Four Corners teams to like being in the new Big Xii. I have zero animosity for them, and would rather throw them a football bone which is still good for the Midwestern teams since we don't have to kowtow to Texas and OU *in football* any longer in order to leave the Basketball in KC.
Time will tell on this. It will be interesting to see how the Big Xii Game goes @ Arlington next year. If it continues to be a success, there is nothing wrong with that. However, I hope the Big Xii considers Vegas for the Football (ONLY). If they do, I think I will plan on going the first year it is @ Las Vegas regardless of who plays.

Listen, I hope they lose tonight because I don’t want to watch that game. They didn’t leave Ohio St out when they had to go to Cardale Jones.
FSU isn’t OSU and sadly that matters. Again they aren’t the same team, March Madness changes seeding based on injuries too, the committee decides to put “the four best teams in” in FSU’s case they aren’t a top team without their QB and that’s just a fact. I’m not saying I agree with it, I’m just saying it’s a possibility
Which statistically has been disproven time and time again over the last several years. Most of the P5 conferences have basically all been in the same ballpark for defense.
And in that case, Texas beat Alabama, who beat Georgia. Seems to be open-and-shut to me.
That would make for excellent, immediate drama in the SEC...
And for the record, Texas can take a long walk on a short pier. However, shutting out the SEC from this year's playoff would be an excellent parting gift to the Big XII.
There are 68 teams in the NCAA Tournament. A lot easier to move someone down a seed line or two because that team at least still gets in. You just can't leave an undefeated P5 champ out for a one-loss team. Sorry I don't care what the circumstances are. Will the game suck? Probably. But this is sports and FBS college football is the only one where sometimes the actual field results don't matter. It's idiotic.
Well, I forget which four corner said it, but they think the BB tourney should be moved out by then.

In that scenario, they should and probably would take Texas and Alabama. Alabama should not and probably will not be taken over Texas, and they will not take Georgia over Alabama if the Tide win.

That always drove me nuts. ISU was regularly holding BXII opponents 10-15 pts under their average, but "didn't play defense"
Computers like Texas schedule even if media spreads a narrative.
I can’t see a scenario where they are not the best one loss team logically or even just eye test.
They would bully Oregon more than Washington did.
If another one loss team gets in over them their a-hole fans will be right to blame the big 12 but really it’s media treatment of b12.
