Weird thing I usually notice during replays- in this one, the game winning basket was on a free throw by Tamin at 15:20 of the second half.
I remember reading if he can be a 10 & 8 guy he'd be a mid 1st rounder at worst. While his intensity would separate him. Basically getting drafted on potential. He was a McDonalds All American, 5 star recruit, on U19 Team USA. Any of his peers not playing on their Teams?
It's all good that ISU is winning, but I understand why people thought Omaha would be playing. Expectation was that he would be one of the best players on the Team. Would ISU not be better if he actually was better than Tre King? That's the depressing part. The thought was a recruit like that raises Teams ceiling. And he was talked about as a one year player not a development. I would say for me it's more confusing then depressing, but I get it.
Also another example why I don't make a living on betting.Last night was another example of how you should add at least 6 points to the line for the home team if the weather is really REALLY bad
Lipsey leads this team in almost every statistical category. Saying Tamin is not our best player is certainly disrespectful. By leaps and bounds.
Which ISU team would be better, without Lipsey or within Ward?
I love what Hasan has brought to the team since his return, but they are sunk without Tamin. Even with a solid group of guards.

The lack of fouling is a big difference from last year. How many games last year was the other team in the bonus halfway through the half?I really didn’t expect Hasan to average 11 and 5 in his first 4 games back from injury. That, added to what BRE is bringing raises our offensive floor.
A huge improvement in both players this year is not fouling when doubling the guard on the perimeter and also not getting called for moving screens on offense. BRE hasn’t been in foul trouble all season, since he’s not picking up 2 cheap unnecessary fouls a game.
Feel like there were some games where they were in the bonus by the 14 min markThe lack of fouling is a big difference from last year. How many games last year was the other team in the bonus halfway through the half?
I think the rule changes on charges/blocks helped that a lot. Seems like we were trying to draw charges almost too much last year and hurt us if they weren't getting called. A lot better at defending and staying vertical this year. The lack of fouling is a big difference from last year. How many games last year was the other team in the bonus halfway through the half?

I'm actually good with that, it's fun to be ranked, but if you're a ISU fan you know this team passes the eye test, and wins. The more people think we are marginal the easier it is to play/beat them.I’d put a decent amount of money on staying unranked. After Houston lost again tonight, not sure if that win still looks as good
Your per minute basis argument is weak. Lipsey is our best and most important player regardless of position, regardless of minutes. No it's not.
Nobody has been as impactful as Ward on a per minute basis since conference started. Now, Lipsey is out most important player as PG, especially in college, is probably the most important position on the floor and we really don't have a legit backup point guard.
With that said we are a completely different team when Ward is in and to be able to have that kind of impact in 15-20 minutes a game is nearly unheard of.
Yeah, but we have that freshman. It's just not the guy you expected it to be. Did we strike out on Omaha, yes. But in most other regards we are exceeding expectations when it comes to the unknown variables coming in to this season. You can always say "well if this had gone differently our team would be better", but overall I think the fortunes are breaking for this to be a pretty special team. That's why it frustrates me that everyone focuses on Omaha so much. Now we know he's not going to contribute much this season. Move on.
Yeah, I could have worded that better. I may have had a few drinks when I posted that last night. I hope Omaha stays and he can still be a great player IMO. Just needs some more development.I agree with most of your statement. I'm not sure that we've struck out with Omaha, it's just that he didn't meet expectations. I've got a lot of hope for him succeeding next yr. Maybe I'm wrong and he will bail, but I hope he stays and grows like many of our players have.
