Once it’s tipped it’s no longer a pass.He was defenseless so it doesn't mater.

ASU showed the blitz way too early. Sent the house and no one got close to the QB. Aggressive call, but it backfired.I don't think them blitzing was the reason Texas scored. Safety lost track of their best WR. I'd rather blitz a guy and not let the QB have all day in the pocket.
Pretty sure its still targeting if Arizona State is on defense. This is now not considered targeting anymore... got it! Head down, helmet to helmet, helmet is the first thing to make contact, defenseless receiver. You can NEVER call targeting again if this isn't targeting!

I was also wondering that... but I don't think just because a ball was tipped means you can just lay out a defenseless receiver, right?Wondered about the tipped ball too and if that’s why the review was so quick.
Should have never even come to that. ASU would have won in regulation if it hadn't been stolen from themGuy brought the house, and UT blocked it, would have been better off blitzing a couple and kept the other safety back to help.
35 with a minute could have been two hand offs and a 50 yard kick which is NOT a chip shot. They would have had the ball at the 35 with a minute to go. They either score a touchdown or end up with a chip shot field goal to win the game.
But we'll never know what would have happened because it was stolen from them. I hate the SEC, Big 10, and ESPN.
Two things, not the crown, it was the forehead.
Second, I don’t know if the defenseless receiver was erased because the ball looked to be tipped. I could be wrong with that though.
I think that's incorrect.Once it’s tipped it’s no longer a pass.
If the ball was tipped the dipsh*ts should have clarified that when announcing it wasn't a targeting call.Wondered about the tipped ball too and if that’s why the review was so quick.
Because it’s football? Because me not watching a game won’t impact what is happening?Agree with you but apparently we are in a small minority. Don't get why any Big 12 fan would watch any more games this year.
The other thing ASU just proved is that Auto-bids are fine. The 12 team format is fine. These byes are the only thing keeping the conference championship games relevant in the BIG and SEC
The people with gripes need to shut up and win their games. Don’t like the bye? Win your games. Think you deserve a bid with 3 losses? WIN YOUR GAMES
Maybe. Texas could have tackled them for a loss or ASU gets a penalty. We will never know. They would have had the ball at the 35 with a minute to go. They either score a touchdown or end up with a chip shot field goal to win the game.

And their special teams had an atrocious day.
The same call was erased in ISU games. The crown is head down, this wasn’t the top of the head. It was the forehead just above the facemask. So crown would not be the call.On the first live view I didn't think it was crown, on the second two it's the crown. It's also helmet to helmet on defenseless receiver so I don't think it matters.
If it's not targeting then 90% of targeting calls I've seen should never have been call and Iowa State might even have had a few extra wins.
It was definitely tipped... but I don't think that means targeting a receiver and laying them out is then okay?If the ball was tipped the dipsh*ts should have clarified that when announcing it wasn't a targeting call.
It’s 100% correct. why PIs are not called. If it’s tipped it’s a live ball and a free for all.I think that's incorrect.
