It is Crazy up here in North Texas. McKinney, Prosper, Allen, Melissa, and Frisco are all +/- 30 minutes from each other. McKinney hosts the D2 Football Championship. There is a 8-mile stretch in Frisco that has a Minor league baseball stadium, Cowboy's (The Star) HQ, FC Dallas stadium, and PGA HQ.

I didn't realize Kingston was so big. Do any CR schools fill it?

A lot of it is not accessible due to deterioration of the concrete. I guess they used to fill it back in the day. Never saw it full when I grew up there.

Friend of mine coaches swimming in Texas. If they laid down a rug and played football at his aquatic center, it would immediately be nicer than any HS football stadium in Iowa.

When did we start playing football on a 50 yard field?

Played at Kingston a few times in HS, late 80s. There were some games back then that would get it pretty full. But the locker rooms were pretty putrid back then, I can't imagine what they're like now.

I think they have redone the locker rooms, but it's probably time to knock that place down. Linn-Mar, Xavier and Marion all have new stadiums.

Someone just texted me this a few minutes ago. I reminded them that Allen spent that 13 years ago, and Mckinney (next to Allen) followed up with a $70M stadium that opened in 2017. Georgia HS is late to the party :)

Isn't there a big HS stadium in texas that got built then condemned all in like less than 5 yrs?

It was in Allen TX about a decade ago already.

Allen HS had cracks in the foundation and concourse almost immediately. Like a year in. Took a year and another $10M to fix.

That 2014 team played every game on the road, went undefeated, and won the state championship. True definition of road warriors.

They removed the “horseshoe” seating on the north side of the stadium several years back. That was the portion that was really bad.

Xavier’s stadium isn’t “new,” really. They put in Field Turf a few years back, they might have replaced the visitors bleachers not too long ago (those were originally transferred over from LaSalle, I think, when they opened in 1999), but it’s not that “new” on the home side. They’re decent aluminum bleachers, but nothing like Linn-Mar’s really awesome stadium. And Marion just opened theirs last fall, I think … which is a huge upgrade over the mud pit at Thomas Park.

Now that I'm so old, the years pass quickly. I still think stuff is new and find out it's 25 years old!

We have stopped by and looked at the stadium in Allen a couple of times, it's an amazing facility for HS football, better than many schools below the P4 level. Take away the weather factor and it's better than the UNI dome or Drake stadium.
