Couldn't he mean the loss that represents what we missed out on by losing and not the stats of the game itself?

If so, I don't think any game in recent memory compares to this loss, so in a way, yes it was the worst loss. Maybe "lost opportunity" is a better way to put it. ESPN gave us an 88% chance to play in the championship if we won. Ranked 16th on a 5 game winning streak...
