My top targets with 4 years of elgibility left: 1) Abdulrashid Sadulaev. Good at freestyle, I think he might translate to folk. Potential though. 2) Khabib Nurmagamedov/islam makachev/ismail musakaev. I think they could fill a hole at 157 and maybe bring home AA status if Swiderski doesn't bump up right away. 3)Aaron Pico (give paniro a year to rs if he wants). 4) Henry Cejudo. Many people don't see it, but I see some potential in his feet work. (Obviously this is a joke)

“We’re” not tho.
For wrestling NIL money? Yes, ISU absolutely is. The non profits these are run through are public information. Look at the teams that finished close to us.

in most recent filing posted 2019 CRTC brought in 637k in contributions. https://apps.irs.gov/pub/epostcard/cor/821247154_201906_990_2021012117621603.pdf

Virginia Techs RTC brought in about half that. https://apps.irs.gov/pub/epostcard/cor/331143568_201904_990_2019081516570078.pdf

UNC, 216K

I understand there are other collectives and not all of our funds go to NIL money. ISU doesn’t have the war chest of Iowa or PSU but they aren’t the little sisters of the poor, either.

There has been lots of talk on here about how we're in on transfers and to just wait..well the dudes who could make a huge difference for us continue to pick the same programs each year. I really thought we'd be competing for a trophy and in the running for these types of transfers by year 7, but I realize that may have been wishful thinking.

Cut a check and your dreams may come true

I continue to say that I don’t think it’s as much as people think. I’ve talked to a guys in the know and I’ve heard numbers. But no one should be stupid enough to “spend” $75k-$100k to “get” a Nagao to come wrestle and just be an AA for a program. Where is the ROI? It’s just bad business. It makes no sense at all. I’ve hear $10-$25k and even that doesn’t make sense business wise but people with excess money can be irrational. It will all come tumbling down here soon for college athletics if it is truly just a “buy your championship here”. Plus guys are friends and it’s been going on for a year now. If it were really that bad word would get out and the news people would be talking about it. Kids would be bragging and spilling all the beans.
Good Business??? Can you explain what good Business is involved with a program that will never "make" money? Buying athletes won't change that. The only ones that benefit are probably the coach that gets a bonus and the athletes. Otherwise it's egos of a few fans that follow their favorite team. You still can't be certain who will be on your team the next year. There is no nil related value in what these kids might get. Call it what it is. PfP!

I think now that tensions/emotions (about leaving the Big 12) have simmered down, it seems silly to not accept them as an affiliate. If we kicked them out permanently we'd still need to add another program to keep the AQ status.

Oklahoma's status has no bearing on whether or not the Big 12 is an AQ league for wrestling.

Also known as "ego money." Throw it around to show that you can.

Luke Lilledahl (2024) committed to Penn State. They now have the #1, 2, 4, 8, 12, and 19th ranked recruits from the 2024 class (according to Willie). Just a stupidly good recruiting class

The only difference between them and Alabama in football is that there’s no Georgia to slow them down. They are a runaway train and it’s not even close.
