Stop with any logic as it is entertaining to read the meltdown. I was waiting for PSU will have 10 National Champs every year until 2099!

So, we didn’t want Lilledahl? Is that why he chose PSU?
Want or need…is the question. Of course we wanted him but not a major need if Terykena/Perryman stay Cyclones for the next 3 years. Also, with NIL who knows what opportunities open up the next couple years.

Meltdown? This is rooted in concrete evidence and pure logic. They are winning national titles at an incredible, undeniable rate and getting insane recruiting hauls. There is no meltdown, just acceptance that we aren’t even close and neither is anyone else.

Terykena and Perryman aren’t on Lilledahl’s level. We don’t “need” any recruit but it sucks to keep missing out on these blue chippers. Penn St is a recruiting monster

We got a guy that just beat the "blue chipper".

Now if this conversation is about Davino, I'd be more in agreement, but I trust the staff when it comes to Lilledahl.

Same conversation happened while IA trampled everyone in the 70’s and 80’s until 6 ISU wrestlers including a first time starter and a Sophomore that never won a State title both won National Titles.

No doubt PSU is reloading but as a wise coach said once “when we lose a top recruit we need to find someone that can beat that recruit” and it appears that is what this coaching staff is trying to do.

We have the most talent and depth we have had at ISU for a very long time. Let’s see what the coaching staff can do with these guys especially with maybe only 1 senior in the lineup next year.

Meza beat Lilledahl this weekend.

Where is Meza going to college again?
I do think Meza is under-recruited and is going to be a stud. Lilledahl seems much smaller than Meza, so I wonder if Meza muscled him around a bit (I didn't see the match).

I hope the staff isn’t overthinking this. The #1 recruit in the class is a guy you try as hard as you can to get.

This is insane rationalization. He’s the #1 overall recruit in his class. Trade our entire stable of 125s and throw in Redding too to get him.

He’s only a Junior and wrestling 126 so I doubt he will be 125 in college but you never know as he doesn’t appear to be very tall.
Maybe he’s sucking down a little but often kids at that level aren’t cutting much if at all so he could be a 25 in college if he wanted to cut. I agree though, 33 seems most likely.
