ISU is the hateful 8's only hope to reach the CCG.

So much for new teams having a hard time in new conferences, ASU and Colo in B12, SMU in ACC, Tex in SEC, UO in B1G. BYU is also still "newish".

There was a lot of losses in the bottom of the CFP/Polls; ISU and ASU will be ranked, KSU might claw in at 25. If so I think that would be the most ranked B12 teams in one week - 5?

Baylor still has a path if they land in a 3 loss tiebreaker with ASU, ISU and Colorado.

I appreciate the hell out of this take. I’ve tried to take this approach since after Brock’s senior year and experience that massive kick in the stones. Football is so much more fun that way.

We had our chance to make the title game and blew it against TT and KU. The universe isn't going to let us back in to it.

I distinctly remember good things breaking our way in 2004 and 2005. But we know what happened in each of those season finales.

Not always true. We got an incredible stretch of luck in 2004 that put us into position to win the north with a win at home in the season finale vs. Missouri. Then the Iowa State took over, and we **** the bed in the rain in front of 30,000 fans.

They are. But ultimately, we’ll have a pretty good idea of our chances by the time our game kicks off in Utah. If CU wins, there’s a solid chance we’re playing for a 10 win season and not the CCG.

Because whatever Bowl (or playoff) we get into, the likely month layoff means we’re going to get most of our injured players healthy—which means an 11th W is more than likely.

I'm torn. I'm a die hard Cyclone, but I've had two sons and three stepsons attend ASU and I live in Phoenix, so we are all Sun Devil fans too. I'm rooting for ASU to beat BYU, but that would suck if that ends up knocking ISU out of the championship game. There's a possibility if ASU and ISU win out and Colorado loses a game that ASU could face ISU in the championship game. That would be brutal. My entire family would be rooting for ASU. I think I'd have to get a divorce and move out of town if ISU lost that game.

I don't know how anyone could consider us more than likely to win our bowl game. CMC teams have turned in plenty of uninspired bowl performances. Hence the coping narrative around here that bowl games no longer matter.
