Whoever that is playing Iowa, and whoever is playing Nebraska. The only issue arises when Iowa plays Nebraska, I'm not sure who to root for. But at least one of them will lose.

I always cheer for K-State and Oklahoma State because I feel they are our sister universities in the conference. K-State got their once in a program coach and Oklahoma State got a sugar daddy. I'm hoping Rhoads turns into our Snyder and our T. Boone Pickens shows up soon.

I used to cheer to Iowa if we weren't playing them, but then I moved to Cedar Rapids and had to interact with Iowa fans on a daily basis. Now I cheer for them to lose as badly as possible in every game or event.

Generally I don't really have a second team. I just root for the underdog or for specific players/coaches I like.

NC State. I have a MS from NCSU, and I'm currently in the middle of my PhD from there. There are countless similarities between NCSU and ISU, and countless similarities between the rival schools (UNC-CHeat and Iowa).

When the Cyclones or Wolfpack aren't playing, I by default cheer on the land grant universities, or the Big 12 school for non-conference games.

I'm with you on NC State. My wife went there and I like the similarities between them and ISU too. Indiana would be the other school I pull for since I'm getting my MBA from there.

I grew up a Gators fan and they were my ONLY team until I transfered in to ISU in '99. Now I would say that ISU is #1 and UF 1a. For some reason I have always kinda liked UCLA too...

By order of priority:

  1. In Big 12 games, I tend to cheer for whichever team will provide the better outcome for ISU.
  2. Outside of the Big 12, I'll cheer for teams that we played in our non-con schedule, regardless if we won or lost against them, to help our record look better. I'm rooting for Tulsa and Iowa in every one of their remaining games.
  3. Beyond any association with ISU, I'll usually root against Nebraska, against any SEC elite, for the underdog, and for BCS chaos in general.

My Grandfather received degrees from both ISU and "The U" (of M) so we grew up rooting for ISU first, Gophers second. It has been great watching these teams meet up in recent years: Insight Bowl, 2005 Men's NCAA tourney, and the women's b-ball series.

College of Wooster (I'm a student so I cheer for them alongside ISU. Plus they're D3 so they'll never play ISU) For big time college football, I cheer for the land grants (except Nebraska and PSU) and the underdogs

Had a cousin who played football for Fresno State, so that's my second team. Pat Hill (currently OL coach with the Atlanta Falcons) is my 2nd favorite coach coach, hope he gets a chance one day to coach a BCS school.

ISU and no one else... I will never own gear from another college. I feel with being an alum and spending 4 years of my life their, that I feel not only obligated but honored to be one.

That being said... I love college football. I can watch almost any game, excluding some Big 10 games and SEC games. I really have no rooting interest when watching them really. I do like the underdog, but if it's a close game then I get sucked in.

I loved watching the Mean Green the other night win. I was amazed by watching Oregons offense last night in the first half. Heck the best game I watched besides any of ours this year was the OSU vs Nebraska game. Well maybe because Nebraska got smoked is the reason behind that one. I actually liked watching an Iowa game this year. Against Central Michigan that is...

Mine usually rotates. Liked Purdue for awhile in the early 2000's. Liked West Virginia when Pat White was playing. Have liked Oregon since Joey Harrington was there.
