UIHC - without them, I wouldn't have my daughter. I promised my wife if they're successful with another child, I'll stop bashing the Hawks.

No?

Okay - Tom Davis (coach), Dallas Clark (player). Both well-spoken, gave back to their communities, and were people that represented the University of Iowa well.

Current (or future)?

Gotta go with this guy...

Nile Kinnick for obvious reasons.
Bob Sanders for getting the most out of physical ability.
Chad Greenway for being a beast and farm kid.

lots of good Hawks over the years.

I actually rooted for the Hawks growing up so there are probably a few but I'll go with hometown hero Chris Street. Played like a little kid and loved every minute.

Since I'm sure the goodwill here will flatten out about as quickly as a Josh Oglesby three pointer, I'd like to chime in with my most respected Cyclone. Jake Knott. Guy was everything a football player should be.

Am a little surprised Larry Station has gotten no mention from the other side. Stud on the field and total class act.

My dad was always a big fan of Chad Greenway. Grew up on a farm and couldn't go to practice until his chores were done.

I also remember after the 2005 Iowa game Iowa was still ranked ahead of ISU in the polls (I think it was one spot, but still). Greenway said something along the lines of "there's no way that should be. They kicked our butts."

If he said that, then he deserves some respect for that.

Also, Norm Parker. His defense was the main reason behind Ferentz's success, in my opinion.

I'll second this one. Even as a clone fan, you had to just sit back and admire how the hawks defense played. It was a thing of beauty for many years.

Mikkel Brown. Worked together at our previous employer for about 10 years. Now he is coaching at Clear Creek Amana I think. Great dude. I liked giving him **** about this pic and getting blown up by Eric Crouch.

Tim Dwight. Just damn fast.

Wade Lookingbill - got to know him in Des Moines. One of the nicest guys I have had the chance to work with.

Chuck Long and Ronnie Harmon. Duo that had Iowa as a legit title contender. Always felt bad as Harmon came up short in some big spots in college and the NFL. Harmon was a man!
