No its not. They were completely comfortable with Dekkers if something happened to Purdy but it was never in question who would start and that's coming from the staff
Dekkers has a higher ceiling. Sorry I’m interested in him getting the reps he needs to reach his potential at the expense of the guy that’s had his chance and led us to a whopping 7-5 record this year.
It was not unanimous. Campbell obviously has the last day, but it was not unanimous. That’s all I’m saying.
Brock will go down as the best QB on paper at ISU with all the records he set and the success we had with him but he still has Seneca and Sage who turned their ISU success into NFL careers to match up with. Had he went to Alabama he may never have taken more than mop up duty snaps in a blowout so it is what it is. I'm glad he came to ISU and gave us a great run.

I think a lot of it is that Campbell has proven many times that when a really good player moves on, their replacement has been just as good, if not better. No one thought David Montgomery could be replaced, but Breece Hall proved that wrong. Same thing with Hakeem Butler; a couple years later Xavier Hutchinson comes in and balls out. For as good as Ray Lima was, Enyi just had the best year by far that any interior lineman has had in the Campbell era. Jaquan Bailey was the all time sacks leader, and all Will McDonald does it break that the next year. I think more so people have heard the hype around Dekkers and are excited to see what he can do.
