It is a damn good deal and I'm sure they'll sell a bunch of these packages. It just means that ticket sales are bad and they're basically giving up on anything other than being able to bump up ticket sale numbers.

The seats they are selling are the wedge seats in the new SEZ. Not the premium seats in the stadium. There may be some of those available for single game ticket sales.

I see this a marketing device to sell out the stadium for the first 2 games for sure. And bolster the attendance for other games. We will sell out the first 2 games and have great attendance for the others.

These tickets will not last long.

Got em. Was really trying to angle for aisle seats. Hope I ended up getting them. It's hard to tell because the number for each row really changes as it gets bigger.

I don't think they are bad as some are making it out to be.

I was a first time season ticket buyer last year and didn't renew this year. With donation and only 2 seats, it was just too expensive given that we bought a fixer upper house last fall. I would have been sick if I'd gotten season tickets this year and this deal popped up.

Stuff like this is precisely why buying season tickets is a bad idea.

Maybe 'bad' isn't the right word. But sufficiently low that they are offering a deal late in the game to bump up sales.

I don't think it is all that bad either. The seats we are selling are those in the wedges of the SEZ.

Marketing genius Pollard. These are the same seats that were hillsides last year......he's just packing them in for the 1st 2 games of the year. Also may hurt Iowa's opening game attendance. He'll get the fence sitters at Iowa to come to Ames and make some money off them.

I kicked around the idea of doing the mini packs for my parents as a gift. I even emailed the ticket office yesterday and got a reply around noon today saying they had announced it, but I ended up buying them season tickets.

I know not everyone can do that, but I felt like if I could spring for it and help throw some more support behind the Athletics Dept., it'd be the way to go. With that being said, just buy tickets either way!

You don't buy Iowa State season tickets because it is a good investment or a good deal. You buy them because it feels good to support the University.

Rats. I was hoping to snag some single game tickets to the UNI game. Now I guess the supply will move from the ticket office to buying from Iowa fans.

Am I the only that that thinks the sightlines will be infinitely better in the upper deck and would prefer those anyways? I'd much rather be corner upper deck than a lower row behind the goal post or in the corner.

Youre spot on. The upper end zone is infinitely better than lower corners.

I can pretty much guarantee that I would have felt bad about dropping $2k this year when these tickets came out. Seats won't be as good, and I'll miss G6, but I'm already over it. If I was donating and getting fb and bb tickets, that'd be fine, but MSP is too much of a drive to commit to basketball tickets (not that I could get one anyway).

Comparing apples to oranges though, you could have bought these same mini-pack seats as season tickets paid not a lot more for 6 games.
