He was super aggressive today. I think they went 2-7 on 4th down. USF played really hard.

does anyone else think that are slumping has started when he left the program. I truly believe he was Campbell’s right hand man not only for the offense but his top recruiter those first 4-5 years.
Our best year was 2020 in the Fiesta Bowl, Golesh was not on the staff. You can make the argument he recruited a lot of the talent and that would be correct for that.

I really, really hope I am wrong on this. But if we're looking for a coach in 2025 he would probably be my first call. That's assuming a jump from american conference to the Big 12 is worth it for him.

That was pretty much the plan all the time though I believe.
It was but it was always a dumb plan IMO. And that's not just hind sight.

Forget calling plays, Golesh was the recruiting coordinator. Yes, we're able to find good players defensively and develop them still. But Golesh IMO was big in finding the Halls, Purdy, Kolar, etc. Since he left, we've not really landed or found a lot of high level offensive players.

Its great to be loyal but Campbell's loyalty to Manning and certain players whose production and play doesn't seem to justify them still continuing to start has hurt this program sadly

The first couple of years I recall there being a presence inside of the coaching staff, a drive where they were going to scour the nation to find the hidden gems and recruit the hell out of them. It was an inspiring picture of a group of young coaches who were gonna change the system and flip the game on its head. I have always thought that Golesh played a big part in that energy. Now, it seems like the coaches have stagnated and don't appear to have that young energy and drive. I've been wondering if that changed when Alex moved on.

How does this narrative fit the actual recruitment rankings? I also really liked Golesh. His interview with CW shortly before he left was outstanding. However, I'm not sure that I would say that our current coaches have "stagnated" in recruiting, unless that means that we have plateaued at a level of recruiting that is the highest in our history. Maybe somebody else can provide the actual data regarding recruitment rankings.

I guess it's a feeling. I didn't mean that our recruiting has plateaued, just that it seems like the energy around it changed after AG left. I don't pay all that much attention, though; just my personal anecdote.
