College officiating:
Player drives to lane - put whistle in mouth anticipating a foul. He missed - blow whistle.
Get booed and chewed by coach.
Call reach in foul on other team to make up for it.
You forgot the in between part where you have to look up at the scoreboard and make sure the makeup foul will work towards making the foul count even because everybody knows, that's the #1 factor in determining if the game was called fairly.
I think that's the thing that drives me nuts the most. You know without a doubt when the ticky-tack hand check fouls are coming: foul count is way uneven, try to wait until a "non-star" player is guarding the ball, TWEET!
