Cold turkey about 5 years ago. Drank diet coke and Pepsi - 2-3 a day.

Still drink tea and coffee.

Too much sugar in regular soda and too many chemicals in diet. It could be coincidental, but my blood work has also improved or in some cases quit deteriorating.

In your head, focus on no sugar and fewer chemicals for a healthier lifestyle.

I think the argument that diet pop somehow makes you retain fat is hogwash. If you don't consume calories, you'll lose weight. Period.
I agree there, but I have an Aunt who used to drink quite a bit of Diet Coke until she had a scary cardiac incident that almost got her a couple years ago. Doctors said the aspartame was the cause, I don't remember exactly what the issue was though.

Where can I find a good zero calorie IPA or bourbon?

I realize you're being facetious, but this is actually really good.

6 to 8 DP's A DAY?!? o_Oo_Oo_O

But dang man good on you for quitting and congrats on the big time weight loss!

Yeah, I kid you not. It was just as unhealthy as you could imagine. I don’t recommend drinking 80 ounces of soda a day.

As others have said, Zevia or La Croix are good ways to get your carbonation fix. During high school track our whole team pretty mich quit drinking pop. Before that point I would have no problem slamming 6 in a night. Since then I can't get past the disgusting film it leaves on my teeth. The only way I can stomach it is in a mixer with ice.

The times I’ve had the Mexican cokes in glass bottles with real sugar, it doesn’t leave the gunk that the regular HFCS soda does.

I have an on-going battle with this. I was drinking diet soda all the time before COVID. While sick and recovering, all soda tasted rancid. I got my taste back, but found that my body doesn’t tolerate aspartame anymore. Headaches and other side effects were getting too disruptive.

I drink Bubbl’r and Zevia now for my “carbonation” kick. When I do get soda, I get a small Sprite. Probably start drinking water with True Lemonade packets again to get that sweet flavor I crave with only 1g of sugar.

I knew this one white trash guy that said he drank about a case of Pepsi every day. I can tell you one thing, I never saw him without one.

Well I drink a MD once a day and have for years and years. I do the real sugar vs the standard kind. There have been times when I've been out east for a vacation for a week or so that it wasn't readily available and that would have been the time to stop because when I'd grab one when I got home it seemed so sweet and I didn't really enjoy that much but didn't take long and started up the one a day again. I ask my dentist every 6 months about the cavity thing and if it's harming my teeth and he says not an issue. i know I need to......

I have been drinking the Bubbly water and other flavored soda waters for a couple years now. Cannot drink pop anymore.

Something about mexican coke for sure. I also have a weakness for Jarritos in glass.

I averaged probably 1 Mt. Dew/day for roughly 25 years until 2016.

Due to some other stuff I chose to focus on my health and quit cold turkey. I think I had one small rum/coke once a few years ago but otherwise have never missed it, which is mind blowing.

The benefits are pretty great though. If I want to drop a few pounds, it's much easier without soda holding it up. Also I have more natural energy.

I used to drink 4 or 5 regular dews a day years ago. Im not a big guy, and had good metabolism, but still dropped 15 pounds when I quit.

Took the kids to a movie about 3 years after I quit, ordered a large popcorn and mt dew. Well the kids didn't want the pop, so I didn't want it to go to waste so I drank it all. I was so jittery after the movie, I made my wife drive home.

Just water and beer for me now (probably drop another 15 pounds with out beer, but no thanks)
