kansas should be ranked. hard pressed to find 24 teams with a better resume than them
Uh, whats so great about their resume'?

They beat a not very good FCS team. A not very good P5 team. A probably middle of the road G5 team at best it appears.

I think we have that. Most do, that are 3-0. None of KUs opponents have won more than 1 game this year so far.

AP voters love a cinderella. We're not losing to Kansas.
The have to blow their wad over a Kansas school, KState stepped on their d*ck so now it’s KUs turn. How long do we honestly think KU will go before they hit a multiple game losing streak?

I'll give KU a temporary pass for getting Novelty Votes. When it gets to positions 20 to 25 at this point in the season, I can understand some pollsters doing a wing-it selection.

To be fair to Kansas (and probably more so, Iowa State), Michigan hasn't beaten anyone good, either, just happens to have started way, way higher in the pecking-order rank. Granted, the wins have been massive blowouts, so I guess it's benefit-of-doubt.

It’s not either/or. No one has suggested we don’t keep winning

It’s undoubtedly a sign that not much had changed in perception of ISU football
As someone else posted, it’s not about us

Lots of attention grabbing wins yesterday—and ours wasn’t one of them.

Because the Big 12 is incredibly deep this year, I'm guessing the champion will end up with at least 2 losses. That's gonna really hurt them for playoff chances.

It’s less about us, and more about other teams winning attention grabbing games.
Plus, ISU's first three games have been on ESPN+, B1G Network and ESPN+, which basically means nobody who wasn't directly interested in the games (especially the two ESPN+ games) saw them or are even aware about ISU being 3-0 this season with two solid (in performance) home wins and a gutsy come from behind P5 road win.

Frankly, no team deserves to be ranked until they have showed the world something. This is why the first poll should come out after about week 3 or 4 not preseason.
This is just plain silly reasoning. Every team showed the world the previous year what they could do, and at the start of the year everyone is trying to guesstimate what they carried over.

That’s the whole point. There is just more to build on as the season progresses.

Also, it’s all just for entertainment’s sake at this point anyway, so I see no reason to chafe about it.
