Ricky Stanzi: 56 TDs and 30 INTs
Sam Richardson if he matches last years 18 TDs and 9 INTs: 55 TDs 25 INTs
SR has 4,840 yards, and if he matches last year he will end up with 7,276.
Stanzi finished with 7,377.
And I'd say that odds are pretty damn good that SR has a better season this year than last year.
So would you rather have Stanzi or Beathard?
I think you confused my point. I never said that I'd take beathard. I said for Richardson to be ISU's touchdown leader, that says more about ISU than it does about Richardson. Not sure why you gave all of Stanzi's stats, he's nowhere close to the touchdown record at Iowa.

Again, why do we contribute wins to QB's?
Yeah, let's ignore the fact that Stanzi had very good defenses on those teams...
No one is ignoring that Stanzi had very good defenses. I agree that judging QB's solely on W-L record is not a very good metric as very good teams can let an average QB have a good record.
But I'd say Stanzi was a superior QB to Sam B Richardson. Stanzi averaged 8.1 yards per attempt in college, Richardson has averaged 6.2 yards per attempt to date. Stanzi's career QB rating was 141.6. Richardson's is 121.1 for his career. Those aren't the be-all, end-all of QB stats but they are ways to compare QB's who played in different offenses and were asked to do different things.
But to this weekend's matchup. Richardson clearly has the longer track record. Beathard is making his 3rd career start. How those 2 play will go a long way to determining who wins.
I had actually forgotten about Iowa winning the Orange Bowl a few years back.

You must live in a tavern hawk free zone. They bring the past up all the time around here, kind of like Uncle Rico.

No matter your evaluation of Richardson and if his stats or Stanzi's stats could be better, worse, who they played with, ect....... Being on pace for 55 TDs and being a RS Senior compared to a QB with essentially no starting experience transcends those arguments.
