Totally agree...but I think he was surpised we hit our average number of turnovers for a game in the first half...right? Didn't we have 9 or 10 at half? Had someone predicted that...and at the same time said we would have a 10 point lead at half...I would have taken it but wouldn't have believed it. Guessing that Bilas was a bit surprised at the number of turnovers and the high rate of them that were kind of unforced.
There were definitely some sloppy ones. Kansas is a top 5 defense though so I don't know why Bilas was that surprised.

Because Kansas wasn't forcing them. He even said many of them were unforced turnovers. That's what he was commenting on. And he was pretty much correct. KU wasn't getting hands in the passing lanes, so much as it was ISU making bad passes or moving out of control.

I was at the game so I didn't get to watch the broadcast until last night. I watched keeping in mind what I had seen in this thread. I really don't get what people are so upset about. Bilas was fine. His critiques were fair and he gave us a lot of praise. My goodness we are oversensitive as a fanbase.

Do as I have done.. Only watch ESPN when ISU is playing. After that, I turn on inside college basketball on CBS Sports as they are truely the best in the business!

For all the CBB junkies, their podcast goes live on youtube in 10 minutes. Iowa State in in the show title!

Bilas was as complimentary as one could be and clearly did his homework before the game.

The only way he was critical at all was about our unforced turnovers and I struggle to call that “critical”. It was objectively true.

Anyone complaining is just butt hurt over ESPNs general coverage. Time to get over it.

As far as Bilas commentary (I finally watched the broadcast on tape last night), in eons of broadcasts involving ISU it was finally one that didn't come from the "look at these plucky upstarts" point of view.

We were better across the board and he and Shulman 99% reflected that.

Sure, Bilas was complimentary of Iowa State during the broadcast. As expected. But let’s see what he says when he’s not under Hilton’s lights in the upcoming weeks.

I think this is sarcasm.

I did the same thing. Watched the game the following day after attending it. I thought Bilas was spot on and very complimentary of the Cyclones.
