Any relation to that vile woman my fellow Iowans put in Washington? If so I'm not impressed, if not Go Cyclones.
Way to take the idiocy up a notch by going political.

We may have lost that pull when Fred left. Kids may not want to ride the bench if they are any good. We will know in a couple of years if we were the destination in ames or if it was a Fred pull.
Sorry I should have put a sarc tag, but it was a joke. Don't take the internet too seriously.Way to take the idiocy up a notch by going political.
Ban dognuts for derailing the thread.
I have to agree. With TJ being the front man, this seems like a player he would have recruited during the GMAC years i.e. Clayton Vette, Marcus Brister.Color me skeptical. Hopefully it works out but he is clearly the lowest recruited guy we have gotten in years.
Doesn't prevent him from being a good player for us of course.
I'd have preferred any transfer or a JUCO.
It seems like a 4 year scholly commitment to have a practice body, which Prohm was talking about a lot.
Fred never set out to miss on all his HS prospects but that's what the result was. He said numerous times that he wanted to build a foundation with high school kids and fill in with jucos and transfers.
You can lol all you want, but our whale hunting strategy got us into a situation where we had to re-recruit an entirely new roster every two years because we landed exactly ZERO whales. That's unsustainable, especially now that transfer recruiting is far more competitive.
Fred took Edozie, the Greek, and KJ Bluford. Those guys are all stretches just like this is.
Not to mention Okoro, Tavon Sledge, Demarcus Phillips, Percy Gibson. People act like Fred never recruited any suspect players.
This isn't the 1990's where a bad player sits on the bench for 4 years. If he can't get playing time, then he will transfer. If he is good enough to get playing time, then he's better than whatever other players we have, how is that a bad thing?
We needed another big guy especially with the Greek still up in the air. What other options are out there at this point?
He looks like a fairly athletic 6'8 guy who has a pretty good looking jump shot. Sounds like a good gamble this late in the summer to me.
1. Phillips was a McD guy
2. All of those guys were way, way more highly rated than this kid and all had better offers.
3. Hoiberg recruited all of those guys at the very beginning of his stint at ISU, when ISU had little national clout. We have far more now.
You can't just look back in hindsight and compare apples to oranges.
You're looking back and judging good prospects who didn't work out and justifying signing a pretty average P5 prospect.
Of course, no ratings or prior events matter for a kids career, but highly rated kids pan out more than lowly rated ones and vice versa, it's a fact.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is a no-lose situation with the scholly situation and the time of year it is. Even if he's a complete bust it won't matter. Maybe he develops and contributes.
Not excited at all with this commit. Would rather have had the scholarship banked for next season!
According to the Iowa Preps guy, this kid was somewhat becoming a hot commodity here as of lately with interest from Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota and Texas. Granted, it is late in the game for everyone and I've yet to hear of an offer, but it is something.
