You'd like to think a bright young individual would be smart enough to not be hanging out with a convicted felon when you're a scholarship athlete with a lot to lose.

What an idiot. Fred gives you a scholarship and this is how you repay him, your teammates and the fans? Nice going, kid.

I'm guessing we don't see an actual trial before the beginning of bball season, would you let Bubu participate?

Of course not and neither will Fred. If Bubu is cleared of all charges he'll be able to play basketball somewhere else. If he's not, I suppose they play basketball in prison.

To the guys saying CFH should let the legal system find him guilty first:

People get fired/kicked off of teams/impeached/etc. all of the time for even the appearance of impropriety...especially when they are semi-public figures/role models/community leaders/etc. Fair or not, the privilege of representing your university in athletic competition comes with a different set of ethical standards set entirely by the coaching staff, the athletic department, and the university overall. Athletes are, literally and figuratively, on a different playing field.

I'm not saying that Bubu should or shouldn't get the boot, but just that it is certainly not unheard of to dismiss athletes before they are found legally guilty. I have complete confidence that CFH, JP, and anyone else involved at the university will handle this appropriately.

1000% agree. Boot this kid asap.

Fred takes all these chances on guys....and the one guy who stabs the program in the back is a hometown kid who worked his way to a scholarship? Unreal.

Nope. Should be suspended indefinitely from all team activities until everything else is taken care of.

if true, he needs to be gone. This is the last guy I thought would be involved in something like this. Hopefully it was all that ****** that was involved and Bubu's side of the story hasn't been told yet.

Maybe we should let him be convicted of something first?

Which with the legal process may allow him to play through half his senior year before anything comes down. I'm all for innocent until proven guilty. But I'm not okay with a guy wearing a Cyclone Jersey because the court of law can take years to finish a case driven by defendant delays.
