Campbell Still in Demand?

I'm trying to make Cyclone Nation aware that the Campbell moment has passed.

Any mistakes in a game will doom ISU due to Campbell's style. He didn't figure it out with more talent last year, what new "difference making" talent do you see fixing his stubbornness?

CampbellBall is completely out of touch with the style of football kids want to play. Best athletes are now at QB and WR, where they get paid. Not RB. Even defenders want stats. All of those things work against ISU in recruiting now. Every D1 football player thinks they are going to the NFL. NFL is a passing and sack league now.

CMC is gonna make ISU KF style with a worse line and a tougher schedule. Imagine defending that and wanting more of that.

So you are making a concentrated effort to see Campbell ousted and replaced. Because you feel his time has “passed”.

At least you stated your intentions of having Campbell replaced. Your divisive rants now make sense. You want Campbell gone.

If you guys are expecting to have an Iowa State football coach that never has a rough year sprinkled in, you're going to have a bad time.
Well I would say we are seeing the second rough year in a row. Last year Top 10 preseason to 7-6 and consensus under performance. This year 3-5 with probable losing record at seasons end. I certainly expect a down yr every so often, but this is 2 yrs in a row and with no NFL back in the RB room things don’t look promising for next yr. That would then become a real problem.

HELL will FREEZE OVER before Nebraska takes Matt Campbell...With the last 2 yrs record the Husker Fan Base would go completely BALLISTIC!!
So who are options for the Huskers? Husker fans are dilusional if they think the Huskers will be the best option for Urban Meyer. A guy like PJ Fleck might be their best option.

Nebraska's an above average job, but elite coaches will have better options. Plus a lot of guys mentioned early, could be convinced to stay where they are: Klieman, Leipold, Aranda, etc. If there is a 12 team playoff, being a big dog in the ACC, Big12 or Pac12 could be a good spot.

Last year was not rough. How long have you been a Cyclone fan?
Wait?! Are you wanting us to settle for the days of Jim Criner as the benchmark? Not going to happen. I've been through that crap parade.

Criner was a cheat. NCAA violations. Plus he sucked as a coach. Campbell runs a clean program. Quit the false equivalencies.

I AGREE also that Stubby Earle Bruce was the best coach in the history of ISU football...btw my first ISU football game was Oct 1962 at Lincoln NE where Dave Hoppmann and Tom Vaughn took on the great Bob Brown and Co!!

Who else besides Earle Bruce has gone over to Iowa City and beat the hoks ...here it comes...31-0! and yes I was at the game also!

GO CYCLONES
You are absolutely right. By the way that is still the Cyclone record for largest margin of victory ever over the Hawkeyes in football.

Agree. It's like last years performance got a "pass" after the 2020 covid season. WTF. Should have been the best season in history. In reality a real flop.

The little things that went ISU's way in 2020 fell to the other side last season.

Granted a lot of that comes down to fundamentals but there wasn't the bail out interception from Mike Rose like Baylor '20 etc.

Something that's weird is that ISU's D, while really good, really doesn't cause much disruption anywhere. Turnovers in the opponents' territory hardly ever happen. The secondary is great with positioning but who was the last ball hawk?

The longer we keep Campbell the worse we will become. I am willing to let him coach one more year to see if he can turn the program around. Finishing 7-6 last year hurt us more than Cyclone fans are willing knowledge. I believe that Campbell is a great person but doesn't seem to have the skill set to be a great coach.

The most concerning/disheartening issues are persistently poor O-line and STs play. It shows either an unwillingness or inability to fix the most glaring problems season after season. That’s the scary part to me.

The correct answer is that he is still somewhat in demand..... but I have no idea why?
Offensive line is awful, No run game at all! Dekkers is under pass rush and making bad decisions! Myers needs to go! Try some other lineman or something!

This is two bad years in a row.

We're in year 7, and are having the same problems we have had since year 1.

CampbellBall is boring and predictable. Everyone sees it.

Excuses are growing old.

Yeah it's really only McDermott if we're being honest. Cpr has had a thousand jobs since he left, Hoiberg has done nothing but trend downward, Morgan sold satellite dishes, Tim Floyd sucked at 2 nba and 1 collegiate job, and mccarney enjoyed success but on a much smaller scale.
Tim Floyd did not suck at UTEP. They were actually really solid when he retired.

Last year was a ****show. Breece already looks like the best back in the NFL before his acl injury. Then you add in guys like Kolar and Purdy who made an NFL roster to go along with a good defense. X will make an NFL roster as a receiver.

Last year was completely inexcusable to only go 7-6. Probably one of the poorest coaching jobs and players not getting it done in college football.
